|🦅 Sinabadan's New Beginning in Leyte Forests
This is Philippine Eagle Lyra Sinabadan, photographed just days after her release into the forests of Leyte. The image was taken during post-release monitoring by our biologist, field technician, and forest guards, marking an important step in her journey toward life in the wild.
Sinabadan’s story began in the rugged highlands of Mt. Tangkulan, San Fernando, Bukidnon, where she was rescued in October 2023 after locals spotted her unable to fly. At just around five years old then, she bore signs of gunshot wounds. Thanks to the swift response of forest guards and the care she received at the Philippine Eagle Center, Sinabadan was given a second chance at life.
Now, in a new forest home in Leyte, she soars once more as part of our efforts to rewild Philippine Eagles in areas where they once thrived. Her flight is a symbol of hope, healing, and the power of collective conservation.
