Intramurals 2025 Culmination: Beyond Sports Celebrates Unity, Talent, and Triumph

Alia National High School capped off its much-awaited Intramurals 2025 with the theme “Beyond Sports” through a lively culmination program held last August 15, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the school grounds.

The celebration opened with solemnity as the program began with a prayer and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. The energy quickly shifted to excitement when the Alia National High School Dance Troupe took the stage with a spirited intermission number, drawing cheers from the crowd. Following this was an inspirational message delivered by the school’s Sports Coordinator, Sir Joshua Balo, who emphasized the values of discipline, sportsmanship, and camaraderie beyond the competition.

The awarding ceremonies began with recognition of the individual categories in sports, honoring student-athletes who excelled in their respective events. Applause filled the venue as each name was called, marking the achievements of young athletes who showcased not only skill but also determination.

Adding flair to the program, the Sports Club officers and members presented a dynamic intermission number, displaying their creativity and enthusiasm outside the playing field. Soon after, the spotlight turned to the group categories in sports, where teams were recognized for their collective effort and unity throughout the games.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the awarding of the Best in Sports Attire (Teachers’ Category), a lighthearted segment that celebrated style and school spirit. The award was proudly received by Ma’am Lourdes Simba and Sir Gerald Cleofe, whose creative outfits impressed both students and colleagues.

As anticipation grew, the program reached its peak with the announcement of the overall results. The rankings were as follows:
• 4th Place: Grade 12 Orange Tigers and Grade 11 Purple Panthers (tie)
• 3rd Place: Grade 7 Green Vipers
• 2nd Place: Grade 8 Yellow Falcons
• 1st Place: Grade 10 Blue Sharks
• Overall Champion: Grade 9 Red Scorpions

Cheers and jubilation erupted as the Grade 9 Red Scorpions were declared Intramurals 2025 Overall Champions, a testament to their teamwork, grit, and unwavering spirit.

The culmination program truly lived up to its theme, “Beyond Sports,” reminding everyone that the event was not only about winning medals or trophies but also about fostering friendship, unity, and lifelong values among students and teachers alike.

August 4, 2025 —With the goal of shaping future storytellers and responsible media practitioners, Alia National High School has successfully conducted its Campus Journalism Workshop today, at the school’s mini gym. The event served as a dynamic learning platform, gathering aspiring student-writers from Grades 7 to 12 to hone their craft in various fields of journalism, including news writing, editorial, feature writing, sports writing, and photojournalism.

The workshop was headed by Ma’am Marigene Antal Garcisa, the School Paper Adviser of ALIA NHS, whose dedication to nurturing young journalists has continually inspired students to pursue excellence in campus publication. Under her leadership, the event was meticulously designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical applications, ensuring that participants not only learn the fundamentals of journalism but also understand its deeper ethical responsibilities.

In adherence to promote the Filipino language and culture, the students and teachers of Alia National High School actively celebrated the Opening of National Month Language 2025 on August 4, 2025.

According to the Commision on the Filipino Language, established by Republic Act No. 7104, is tasked with developing, promoting, and preserving Filipino and other Philippine languages.

"As Filipino, we must practice to use our national language formally and properly because some of us cannot communicate with our native language effectively" said Principal II of Alia National High School Joy Lozada Villanueva-Luayon.

Ma'am Jumalyn added the announcement for this month competition including poster slogan making, written speech, and intellectual competition.

The Opening for the National Month of Language successfully concluded through the initiative of Filipino Coordinator and Officials of SaMaFil Department in bringing the essence of nationality and patriotism in Alia NHS.

With the aim of empowering the school’s nutritional foundation, Alia National High School successfully celebrated Nutrition Month 2025 on July 31, 2025, anchored on the theme, “Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat!”

This annual celebration Spearheaded by ma'am Lalaine Origenes Casinao Dumana /TLE Coordinator, TLE Club Officers and Members, supervised by ma'am Joy Lozada Villanueva-Luayon / Principal 2 sought to raise awareness and promote the importance of proper nutrition among students and staff alike. The event officially commenced at 9:30 in the morning, setting the tone for a day filled with fun, learning, and meaningful advocacy. Each section from Grade 7 to Grade 12 eagerly participated in the booth contest, where they showcased a variety of nutritionally categorized foods under the Go, Grow, and Glow classifications. The vibrant food displays not only reflected the creativity of each class but also educated the attendees about the significance of a balanced diet.

Simultaneously, the hairstyling and make-up competition took place at the mini-gymnasium. Participants demonstrated their artistry and talent using palettes and brushes to transform their muses with flair and confidence. The activity highlighted the students’ ability to blend aesthetics with imagination, contributing to the dynamic atmosphere of the celebration. At the same time, the Innovative Dish Competition began, where selected students showcased their unique culinary creations using healthy ingredients. This segment emphasized the value of cooking nutritious meals creatively and resourcefully, further reinforcing the message of health and wellness.

In the afternoon, the much-anticipated Search for Mr. and Ms. Nutrition Month 2025 unfolded with great excitement. Each candidate confidently owned the stage during their production number and jeans attire walk, impressing both judges and audiences with their poise and personality. Loud cheers and support from classmates echoed throughout the venue, creating a spirited and unifying school community.

Following the production walk, the energy continued with the Yell Competition and a high-energy Zumba session, where each team exhibited synchronization, enthusiasm, and physical fitness. These events brought together movement and motivation, reminding students that staying active is a crucial part of a healthy lifestyle.

The celebration concluded on a heartfelt note as each candidate delivered their advocacy speeches, articulating their personal mission and vision in promoting good nutrition within the school and beyond. Their messages were inspiring and reflective, emphasizing the role of young individuals as ambassadors of wellness in their communities.

Overall, Nutrition Month 2025 at Alia National High School was a resounding success, an event that not only entertained but also instilled values of health, unity, and proactive engagement toward a nourished and informed.

Are you passionate about writing? Do you want your voice to be heard? The Official Student Publication of Alia National High School is now looking for aspiring journalists to be part of our Campus Journalism team!

Qualifications:
1. Must be a bona fide student of Alia National High School from Grade 7 to Grade 12.
2. Should have a basic understanding of campus journalism or be willing to research and explore its various categories (news, feature, editorial, sports, etc.).
3. Must demonstrate a genuine interest and passion for writing and storytelling.

Registration Date: July 28 - July 31
Workshop/Writing Time - August 1, 2:10-4:10 pm
