SIGNS OF HEALTHY BETTA
🎇 Vibrant Colors
Bettas frequently change color, both in the short and long term. Betta fish that have been on the shelf for a long time are frequently pale copies of themselves. The fish will become brilliant and vibrant within the first few days and weeks of being in clean, warm water. This is a sign that you are providing excellent care for your betta.
Bettas frequently change color in specific areas of their bodies. The head is the most typical place for color change. The tail fin (also known as the caudal fin), as well as the dorsal and a**l fins, frequently change color. The color of the pectoral and pelvic fins does not usually alter.
🤤 Large Appetite
A healthy betta has a huge appetite. At least once a day, your betta fish should eat two to four pellets. Betta fish eat their meal swiftly before moving on. That's a good indicator since it suggests they're satisfied.
🏃 Fast and Active
When their human friends are present, the betta is one of the most active fish. When the light is turned on, they will follow your finger about their tank, learn tricks, and spend a lot outside of their hideouts. This hungry fish enjoys feeding time so much that it jumps out of the water to get its meal.
🧜 Fin Movement
When swimming, a healthy betta has excellent fin movement. They will fully extend their fins and allow them to float in the water while they sway. One of the reasons males attract females is because of their fin movement.
💢 Aggressive
Betta fish, commonly called Siamese Fighting Fish, are naturally aggressive. Males have become quite territorial in the wild, which is one of the main reasons they fight on-site. Because their natural habitat frequently has limited food resources, the fish will fiercely defend their territory's food supply.
Male Betta fish have been known to fight on-site, but they can also be hostile toward female Siamese Fighting Fish. That is why, unless they intend to breed them, many Betta fish caretakers will not keep females and males together.
