Pet owners in Legazpi City are invited to join the two-day "Boot Camp for a Better Pet," a free pet training session, on July 19-20, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in Brgy. Dap-Dap Covered Court.

In an interview with DZGB News on Thursday, July 17, Legazpi City Veterinary Office Head Dr. Emmanuel Estipona said the activity will offer basic obedience training for pets, aimed at improving behavior, strengthening the bond between pets and their owners, preventing abandonment and bite incidents, and promoting overall pet health and well-being. The training also emphasizes responsible pet ownership.

Estipona added that the event supports the city’s ongoing rabies elimination campaign.

The activity is open to all pet owners in the city.

A new rabies station at the Legazpi City Health Office officially opened on Monday, June 30, offering free anti-rabies vaccinations to Legazpeños, Mayor Hisham Ismail said in an interview with DZGB News on Tuesday, July 1.

According to Ismail, the facility can accommodate at least 20 patients per day, with services offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meanwhile, to avail of the free vaccination, residents are required to present a certificate of indigency issued by their respective barangays.
