Darryl has a lifetime of experience breeding Standardbreds and over a decade of successful semen shipments to Australia. The industry brings a wealth of expertise and a strong, reliable distribution network that services breeders across the country.

Sunday Funday with the Geraldine Pony Club.

We had a fantastic day on Sunday hosting the wonderful Geraldine Pony Club, again! It was great to see so many happy faces enjoying time with the horses and making special memories. We played the sack race, egg and spoon and pin the tale on the horse. The kids loved it!

Our two newest purebred Irish horses, Ma Belle and Greystone, were an absolute hit! Stealing the hearts of the kids with their gentle nature and charm.

A big thank you to the Geraldine Pony Club for visiting. We can’t wait to welcome you back in the summer for the next adventure.

Trevalda Mountain Duke
Purebred Approved Irish Draught Stallion

We are proud to stand Trevalda Mountain Duke for the coming breeding season. Duke is a stunning young stallion, that represents the very best of Irish Draught bloodlines world wide. We feel fortunate to have him here in New Zealand and available to breeders nationwide.

Duke is sired by the legendary Class 1 Ballineen Blue Mountain (UK IMP) Brian has been one of New Zealand's top sport horse stallions over the past decade.

But here’s where it gets truly special. Duke’s dam is Richmondlea Delia (IRE IMP), by none other than Crosstown Dancer—a Grade A showjumper and one of the most influential Irish Draught sires globally. Delia’s dam was by Mountain Pearl, also a Grade A showjumper before his export to the USA. So you can bet Duke's progeny will be able to jump full wire.

Delia was hand-selected as a foal at the Dublin Royal Show and went on to win Supreme Champion Irish Draught at the Melbourne Royal Show. She was Trevalda’s top-producing mare and, sadly, has since passed—making Duke’s legacy even more treasured.

Duke was sold to Tir na nOg on his birthday, and we were thrilled to see him feature in a starring role on Country Calendar with Tracy.

We hope Duke continues the incredible impact his sire Brian began here in New Zealand. He has been professionally trained for collection, and his semen quality is outstanding. We eagerly await the arrival of Duke’s first three foals this spring.

Derrynasagurt Silver's foals are a joy to train.
I've started a lot of horses over the years from many different breeds, and nothing compares to the Irish. They're easy, willing, and have a kind intelligence that makes working with them a dream.
Horses have been an important part of Irish culture for centuries, and that legacy has shaped a breed that’s not only versatile but also genuinely pleasant to be around.

We've got our little helper with us today while we’re grooming Kightscross Sparkles, our 3-year-old filly. She’s extra special, our only bay in a herd of greys! Sparkles is one of four mares sired by our late stallion, Richard the Lionheart, an impressive 18hh purebred grey Shire.

We're really looking forward to seeing what we get from crossing our GizzyXShire mares with an Irish. Should be a fantastic blend of strength, size, temperament, and versatility. There's 1 cooking at the moment in Sativa due November.

Exciting news—both Ratamill Willow and Knightscross Sativa are expecting Silver foals!
As a farmer, I really enjoy the challenge of growing quality grass. At the moment, the horses are being break-fed on standing hay that we grew during the spring and summer. We also grow our own hay and balage, which we use to supplement their feed throughout the winter months. It's satisfying shifting the tape daily and watching their tummies grow.

Exciting! We have sold Pearl and she is staying with us for a little while longer. We offer grazing and training plans so if you don't have the facilities or time to take on a youngster but love the idea then get in touch with us.

The Silent Retreat with Equine Meditation was a huge success! We had 11 guests that got to spend the day relaxing with our horses in this beautiful natural setting. Horses are great teachers when we take the time to listen.
