Winston's leg isn't feeling the best! So he got some extra love and treatment. 💗

He enjoyed a session of Cold Laser Therapy to assist with any pain and inflammation he may of been experiencing and some massage to his muscles that are currently working over time compensating.💪 The massage is done to help aid in relaxation, loosen tightness, relieve tension and improve his general range of motion.👐😌

He also got a few extra treats, a tasty licki mat and some extra head rubs from Jarryd Clarke Mayes! Sounds like a pretty great day to me. 🥰😍

Winston is still waiting on his forever home and is up for adoption at HUHANZ go give them a visit and meet this handsome man! And his equally handsome, beautiful friends all waiting for their forever home! 💕💜

For Sarah, it looked like building a career she genuinely loves.

In less than 12 months after graduating with dual certification in Canine Hydrotherapy and Canine Remedial Massage, she was:

🐾 Employed as a Hydrotherapist at one of our Partner Clinics in New Zealand

🐾 Running her own mobile canine massage business

🐾 Volunteering her skills to help dogs at her local rescue shelter

What I love most about Sara’s story is that she didn’t choose just one path.

She created a career that combined employment, business ownership, and giving back to dogs in need.

Massage is such a big role player and can make a massive difference in your dogs healing journey! 💗

Massage is one of the most powerful and underutilised tools in veterinary rehabilitation.

It’s not just about relaxation - it’s a clinical tool that allows us to assess muscle health, improve tissue quality, and support recovery.

Through massage, we can:
✔️ Identify asymmetry and changes in muscle tone
✔️ Help tight muscles relax and weak muscles activate
✔️ Support healing in painful or injured tissues
✔️ Restore balance to the body after injury or performance demands

And here’s the key takeaway…

Rehabilitation doesn’t happen in a single session.
Massage - and recovery as a whole - requires consistent, repeated input over time to create lasting change in muscle and nervous tissue.

It also highlights something we often forget:
👉 Rehabilitation is a team effort
👉 And the owner plays a critical role in daily implementation

Because when used correctly, massage doesn’t just feel good…
it actively changes how the body moves, heals, and functions.

Meet Sweet Louis! Aka Lou Lou Magoo and Potato!
Louis is a new member of the MyCuties family and our personal home. 🥰😍
We are celebrating his almost 1 month since his adoption and coming home with us from HUHANZ 🥳🥳🎉YAY Louis.

Watch this space to watch his life journey and his rehab journey! Louis has HD (Hip Dysplasia) and MPL (Medial Luxating Patella)

He has already warmed up to the idea that massages each day are actually pretty great! 😉🤣

We are pleased to welcome Buddy to the MyCuties family. 🥰😍 This charming young guy is embarking on a journey to master his big emotions and overcome his triggers and anxiety.

Buddy has completed 3 sessions so far and him and his owners are making great progress. We are focusing on desensitization and conditioning to change the way in which Buddy reacts to his triggers and ways in which he can still practice processing cues in higher stress situations.

Although Buddy still has a long way to go it has been so good to watch the small steps forward he has already taken with the support of his owners and we need to remember to really celebrate those!🫶👐🙌

We look forward to watching your growth Buddy and being part of this journey with you! 🥰💗
