Dallas Hopkins Equestrian At DHE our goal is to produce happy, confident riders and calm, capable horses.

Working in conjunction with Maven Grove Sporthorses, Dallas Hopkins Equestrian is a business providing coaching, starting, schooling and mentoring. We have a kind and patient approach to the training of horses and believe that taking the time to train responses at a foundation level produces calm and confident horses for any discipline. As a coach and mentor Dallas brings this vision to reality fo

r the rider as well, teaching not only the method but the why behind the method, all while creating a positive and judgement free environment. In addition to her National Diploma in Equitation Science, Dallas has trained and competed on the national circuit under the guidance of top International Riders, with this experience comes a vast wealth of knowledge which Dallas am more than happy to share. Being located within the Selwyn District comes with the advantage of being close to a number of purpose built training facilities. All horses trained at Dallas Hopkins Equestrian enjoy great variety in their training, with access to the arena at Maven Grove Sporthorses for dressage and show jumping schooling, or cross country and hacking at a variety of facilities in the area.

It all started when...

Maven Grove first flourished after years of brainstorming ideas in late 2018. By definition Maven is another term used to describe an expert in a particular field and Grove offers a sense of tranquility which is important when training horses. It was on these basic principals that Maven Grove was born.

We have a goal here of teaching tools to both riders and horses as part of their foundation to a successful and mutually beneficial partnership. We also want to demonstrate that prioritising relaxation as part of your relationship with your horse doesn’t come at the expense of talent or competitiveness - it is in fact quite the opposite. When you have a genuinely relaxed horse you are able to develop increased clarity, confidence and focus when riding which supports you both to perform at your peak.
