At our last meeting we had the pleasure of hearing from Caz Bassett from Pawz Perfect as our 10 minute speaker. Caz provided an excellent outline of her personal and career journey, starting in Australia and ending up in NZ. Caz has been working with dogs for more than 15 years, and is a Certified Pro Dog Trainer, Certified Trick Dog Trainer, has a PetTech Certificate in Dog First Aid, and is a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers of New Zealand.

Caz offers a variety of programs which have been designed to assist you with all your dog training challenges, providing a games-based positive training experience with your specific training needs a priority. You can choose from either group training or personalised 1 to 1 sessions – whatever best meets the needs of you and your dog. Caz is excellent in working with dog owners to foster good owner/pet relationships, dog behaviours and helping resolve any problematical behavioural issues, using fear-free and force-free techniques. She also supplies all manner of doggie toys to keep your pooch happily occupied and engaged. Caz’s unbridled passion for pooches and their owners, and helping them build wonderful relationships, is legendary, as is her back story as a very keen and successful sportsperson.

Hi I’m Caz and I’ve been working with dogs for more than 15 years. I’m a Certified Pro Dog Trainer, Certified Trick Dog Trainer, have a PetTech Certificate in Dog First Aid, and a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers of New Zealand.

Like most people I grew up with dogs! My first public experience demonstrating obedience handling was at the young age of 5. With my Grandfather’s German Shepherd dog Zorro, we put on a heel work display at a regional gymkhana in Australia – let’s just say I’ve learnt a lot since then! Since that time dog training has always been in my life and heart.

“I love having happy dogs and really enjoy developing a special bond with my dogs – it’s all about the journey, and having fun! My goal is to help other owners build a strong and lasting relationship with their dogs through fun positive training techniques.”

Not only can we support you in your dog training journey and help you to develop a great relationship with your own dog but we can introduce you to a world of fun training games and dog tricks that will allow you to develop the skills and behaviours you desire in a fun and reliable way.
