A member of the public brought these sad Axolotls to our attention, I had plans to go up and help owner’s redo their set up on my next day off but when I called after work today and offered to help owners didn’t want to hear it and told me to just come collect them. So after doing a shift at work, and sorting out my children I drove 3 hours to collect these two, I’m completely exhausted but at least they’re save now 😃

I’ve named this wee one minnow 🐟

Can you believe he’s over 9months old?
One of the worst stunted growth babies I’ve seen but I can actually see a difference in his healing now, for a bit there it was hard to tell if he was improving.
His colouring has changed alot which Is awesome, he clearly had ammonia burns when he arrived and has had his first ammonia scar come through (the black smudge you see on him) his gills look fluffier and he’s growing an extra tail ❤️

He still struggles with eating, and moving around but we’re working on it.

Please keep the pressure on this pet shop! It Seems most people have forgotten or forgiven the hundreds of comments from different people sharing their storys of abuse from this store just because wet pets posted a few people who were calling them outs criminals chargers. They didn’t even address the animal abuse happening that thousands of people have witnessed because they wanted the focus to be taken off them and everyone fell for it!

These puppies have been backyard bred by the owner, they won’t be health checked, or vaccinated and they’ll be well and truely overcharging for them! Please do not support their abuse! Stop love reacting and liking posts, report abuse to the spca and mpi when you see it, take photos, go to the media, join the protest outside their store. Don’t stop speaking up for those who can’t talk for themselves!

The Cavoodle crew has arrived in store!!! 😍 These mini bundles of joy are packed with personality, vet-checked and vaccinated.

We are still looking for good homes for many Axolotls, mostly wildtypes (black/ brown colouring).

These Axolotls were rescued off someone who was housing them in what I’d described as a puddle, they were in poor conditions when arriving at our rescue but are now ready to move on and live in proper set ups.

All of our Axolotls are fed on grubpie, pellets and earthworms, and can be shipped across NZ at your expense.

Rest of the babies from last weeks surrender clutch have arrived including a teeny tiny 2cm long axolotl that owners said stopped growing. These babies are currently enjoying some live food and should hopefully be a better weight by the end of the week 😃
