LOL YES! Thanks Jerry Hilbert! You ARE partly (only partly??? I remember the conversation...) responsible...
Does that make you an enabler? 🙂 #########

Webinar for all! Professor Denis Verwilghen is an awesome specialist surgeon with a particular passion for anything in the equine head from Belgium (now in Australia). Like he's Dr Dr Dr Dr... truly.
He's also given me a very nice forward for my Modern Equine Dentistry for Horse Owners book!

Denis Verwilghen is a professor, board-certified equine surgeon and equine dentist with a special passion for everything involving the equine head—dentistry, sinus surgery, and minimally invasive techniques. He is currently Clinical Director and Senior Surgeon at the Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, the University of Melbourne’s referral and teaching centre.
Originally from Belgium, Denis trained across Europe, completing his surgical residency, MSc, DES, PhD, and ECVS board certification before moving through academic roles in Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, and Australia. In 2022, he also became a diplomate of the European Veterinary Dental College (Equine Track), formalising his long-standing focus on advanced equine dentistry.
Denis has published widely, taught around the world, and delivered more than 100 invited lectures. His clinical and research interests centre on equine dentistry, head disorders, surgical innovation, and doing things as cleanly and safely as possible.

A very special edition of our Tuesday Truth series:

All equine vets, techs, and other support staff all want the best for your horse, we really, really do. Everyone got into this profession to help horses above all else. To help keep us safe and to help your horse the most in his or her time of need, there are some bare minimum necessities. A stall and a trailer are pretty high up this list. Do you need both of these things all the time? No, of course not, but you need to be able to access either quickly, in a time of crisis. Don’t let that Saturday night emergency be the first time you’re looking for someone to haul your horse to the emergency clinic. Don’t have that Sunday morning laceration have you driving to the feed store to try to buy panels to set up in your field. We promise to do our best regardless of the circumstances, but please understand that the circumstances may affect the outcome more than your veterinarian can. Let’s all work together to help the horse the most, rather than trying to work around limitations we could overcome ahead of time!
