Gussie’s gang, loved bounding and bouncing, through the meadow that runs between two ponds. Belle went for a refreshing dip in each pond. She glides through the water beautifully. Would easily make the dog synchronised swimming team. Whiskey has been to the groomers and is unrecognisable, except for his signature trot. Milly is having a blast with her new friends. She loves all the action, especially running fast with Lillie. Gus is predicting an early spring with his Hawaiian 🌺 shirt on. Hopefully he is a weather savant 😃

It was a frosty morning for Chilli’s crew out at Oreti Sands. Billy is having a week of adventures and was very excited to be back out with the crew. He was welcomed back with an all in game of chase. Moose joined in for a couple of minutes and was then off hunting possums. Milly and Winnie were best friends for the day. They had a fun time together, including swimming in the freezing pond 🥶🥶. Chilli, as crew leader, usually strolls along and keeps a fatherly eye on his young charges. Today he was the centre of any malarkey that was occurring. He will be sleeping well tonight.

The Friday Goodsorts crew hit the ground running at Oreti Sands. It was a beautiful afternoon and they all had a blast. Everything was exciting! There was lots of chasing, interesting stuff to sniff and swimming. They were ready for a snooze when they got back into the van. Chica wasn’t too pleased about being in the back. Georgie had snuck into the front and bagsed the shotgun seat. So Chica, who was slow to get in the van, (getting in her last investigative sniff) was left with the only free space in the back. The Dashies are experts at sprinting the last 100m to make sure that they get in the front. Chica might have to take notes from the masters. Lulu spent the afternoon mostly airborne, ecstatic running is her favourite thing. Oscar has a similar style, joy in every bound.

The Lab Lad’s out and about at Oreti Sands on Friday. Ozzie and Paddy loved zooming around together. Buddy was very pleased to be back at his ponds. He knows where the pine cones that are thrown into the pond wash up. Across the other side of the pond is a flax bush and underneath it is a treasure trove of abandoned cones. He is a pine cone seeking genius!

Bella had a fabulous time running through the forest. She absolutely loved it! As did Ajax. He’s into the swing of things, now that he is familiar with his crew. Rosie keeps the energy levels flowing. She is just excited to be racing along the trail, and gets everyone involved. Flynn is always keen for some hijinks, so they get along well together. Chilli enjoys their enthusiasm and joins in. His favourite time is in the van. He’s the King of the van. If he had a microphone, he’d be leading the karaoke.

Willow had her eyes on the road ahead, both on the way to her adventure and when we were heading back home. She is a great driver’s assistant 👏👏. It wasn’t the best of weather, so we went into the forest, which was dark and gloomy. The dogs marched along, mostly single file. Biscuit, as usual, tried to move things up a notch. She found a big stick that needed more than one to transport. Dobby and Ritchie pitched in, but after being whacked and bumped around the legs multiple times, it got hurled into the bush. They collectively decided not to go after it 👍. Scooter was full of energy today. He covered twice the distance of everyone else, mostly off track bush bashing.

The Spice Girls enjoyed a stroll through the forest this morning. Ziggy has fitted in nicely with her new friends. Stella was keen to get the chasing games underway, but the rain had enhanced the delicious aromas that dogs love, and the dogs were enjoying sniffing out good stuff. Moose hit the jackpot with two possums. He had a major dilemma, which of the two to carry? He settled for the smaller of the two. A good decision as he was exhausted trying to relay run both of them. Offers to help from the other dogs were firmly rejected. They looked relieved to be not needed and got back to their own fun.
