CANCELLATION POLICY

For those of you that are not aware, sadly due to an increase in clients canceling/resheduling with less than 24 hours notice I have had to implement a cancellation policy. Cancellations/resheduling with less than 24 hours notification will incur a charge of 50% of the groom price at the discretion of Happy Paws. I am not unreasonable so of course if your reason is an unavoida

ble one and you could not have been reasonably expected to give notification any sooner then the fee will be waived. It is your job to take note of when your next booking is and keep track of it. 'It slipped my mind' or 'I am on holiday' is not a good reason for a late cancellation/reshedule. Appointment reminders are sent out the night before your appointment but this is a courtesy, please do not rely soley on this to remember your appointment. Late cancellations/resheduling often doesn't allow for me to rebook your appointment, resulting in a loss of income for me. I'm a small one woman business and can't afford for this to continue. I've had to make the decision to implement this policy to safeguard myself and my business. �

I appreciate your co-operation and continued support everyone. It's truly a privilege to be able to groom such wonderful dogs.

⭐️Groomalong 2025 – We Brought Home the Ribbons!⭐️

Well I’m back from Groomalong 2025 and still floating on cloud nine after an absolutely unforgettable weekend. I competed in three Intermediate-level grooming competitions-

Friday – Intermediate Gundog: 2nd Place with my beloved Gordon Setter, Angus.

Saturday – Intermediate Salon Freestyle:
3rd Place with Obi- Spoodle

Sunday – Intermediate Oodle: 1st Place with Hunny- Spoodle

And now for the really big news:
Mine and Hunny’s win in the Oodle class earned us a place in the Best in Show line-up.
I’m beyond thrilled to share that we took out Reserve Best in Show for the whole event!
This is the biggest achievement of my grooming career so far, and I couldn’t have done it without the incredible support I’ve received along the way.

I’m also pleased to announce that I decided to use the competitions to sit the first of five exams with the National Groomers Assn NZ which lead to earning the title of New Zealand Master Groomer, and I passed. It’s an exciting step forward, and I can’t wait to keep learning, growing, and striving for excellence in this industry.

Congratulations to Samantha Macintosh for taking out Best in Show with her beautifully hand-stripped Cairn Terrier.
To my good friend Sophie Mummery—huge congrats on taking out Intermediate Best in Show! Your groom was stunning. Thank you for your friendship, your support, and your encouragement.

Finally made it to Christchurch rather late last night after bathing and drying Angus and then smashing the glass top of my grooming table while putting it in my car 😭

The life of a dog of a competitive dog groomer 😆
Angus and I have been preparing since October for a grooming competition in April. We've put in countless hours already getting his coat competition ready and while our work is far from finished, this latest acquisition does the work for us. It's called a flattening coat. Used by competitive dog groomers and those that show dogs in the confirmation ring, worn regularly it encourages the growing coat to lay flat.
I've been struggling to get Angus's coat to lie flat as it should rather than in all directions like I've dragged him out of a blackberry bush 😆

That's a wrap!

Angus would like to let you know that both the Timaru and Fairlie salons are now closed until the 6th January.

During this time all messages and calls will be tuned off while myself and my partner enjoy a break away for my birthday and Christmas.

To all my loyal clients and your fabulous fur babies, thankyou for another wonderful year of grooming and dog walking and I can't wait to see you all again in the New Year 🧡🐾
