🎉 Exciting News 🎓🐴

I am thrilled to announce that I am now Level 4 (UKRS) qualified in Equine Sports Massage, Biomechanics & Rehabilitation!

Big thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their horses as my case studies and everyone involved in childcare at various points so I could study.
I am looking forward to this being the start of a lifetime of learning as it’s opened my eyes to how much more there is to know.

In October I will be back in New Zealand and then will be setting up ready to start treating horses. What this space for more updates

I’m trying to ignore my lost laptop situation and instead focus on the positive things. My new Photizo red light device has arrived (LED PhotoBioModulation) if we’re being technical.
Red light therapy offers a range of benefits for horses, particularly in promoting healing and reducing inflammation. By using specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light, this therapy can help increase circulation, speed up tissue repair, and ease muscle or joint pain.
Not all Red light devices are created equal and I spent a long time researching and choosing the one that would be most effective.
Anyone who has seen me recently knows I’ve been struggling with achillies tendonitus, as I do like to complain about it 😂 I’m testing out the Photizo device on myself and hopefully it helps.
Looking forward to getting it on some horses soon

Both helpers came for a ride today. Littlest helper was super excited he’s big enough now for a proper go on the “DeeDees” and I put biggest helper in charge of the camera and ended up with, no exaggeration, 400 photos that look like the first one 😂

Did get one good one out of them all and then I took a turn. More training needed for the photographer next time.

Most of the riding on Nutty who was super sweet and still walking out nicely at 31 years old!

I’m back in Cornwall now and today enjoyed a sunny afternoon with Sam the gorgeous overgrown Connemara pony.

He’s 20 years old and in great shape and lives the good life, barefoot, out in a big field with a small herd of friends. We joined all of them for a little hack around the lanes then I gave Sam a post ride massage. He was an interesting one and showed so many big releases when I was working on his head. I always work really gently in this area but it was very effective and he must have get much better afterwards when a lot of the tension was released

May in photos because I keep saying I will be better at posting but life just gets away from me. A couple of massage case studies, riding in Cornwall and Oxfordshire and a couple of different borrowed ponies for biggest helper. Really grateful for all the lovely people who have let me borrow horses for me and ponies for the kids. I wasn’t sure how it would be coming back to England after 10 years away and moving between areas, some of which I had no horsey contacts from the past but everyone has been so nice and welcoming

April in photos. Lots of hands on learning massage techniques and putting it into practice. Plus a bit of riding for me and the little helpers. And the best thing was so much sunshine! I feel like the English weather is conspiring to make me want to stay!

I promise I haven’t just been cuddling cute ponies this week! I’ve been learning so much on my massage therapy training course and lots more to come. Very exited for when I can get out and start treating horses.

Met the lovely Vinnie today a very handsome ex racehorse who luckily for me his owner would like a little bit of help keeping him fit. It will also be good for me as I was quite puffed after just a short schooling session today. Definitely hasn’t been enough time in the saddle recently!

More exploring of muddy Cornwall on horseback today. So happy to share part of it with little helper no.1 joining me for our first ride together. He told me afterwards it was his favourite part of the day so maybe there is hope he will be a rider after all.
All good fun, even including my tactical dismount after getting wiped out by a low tree branch
