TATTOING GOD’S KIDS?!
It’s fashionable to get tattoos at the moment worldwide!
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, UNHOLY, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, DESPISERS OF BEING GOOD, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a FORM OF GODLINESS but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”
II Timothy 3:1-5 NKJV
Many believers have their tattoos removed later in life. I & other of my associates had our tattoos removed after giving our lives to Christ.
We read it in the Bible...
“You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the LORD.”
Leviticus 19:28 NKJV
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”
John 14:15 NKJV
I got my tattoos before I met Christ & God forgave me of all my sin & now I want to live my life in a way that pleases Him according to His Word & so I got my more visible ones removed, so I could be an example to others!
Some point out to the verse before that about cutting your beard. But ignore the one after about prostituting your daughter & the occultic practice cutting yourself for the dead.
The law was given practically to keep the people healthy & following God in a day & age when they didn’t have health facilities & cleaning solutions & tools that we have today.
Example houses that had mould were to be torn down & burnt & disposed of. Where today we have cleaning solutions that can deal with such mould.
I believe hair is given by God to us for looks & health protection
I believe that cutting yourself for the dead & tattooing, which both involves drawing blood; opens our bodies to the demonic!
When we come to Christ He forgives our sins we committed in ignorance.
But as a Christian to get a tattoo, you’ve got to ask ‘WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO, WHEN GOD PLAINLY TELLS US NOT TOO. DON’T YOU WANT TO PLEASE HIM, MORE THAN YOURSELF?!’
Some say ‘I got a tattoo because it’s cultural!’
Every culture has had tattooing in it & it is all linked to the idolatry, or the occult!
Does it mean we won’t get to Heaven if we do get a tattoo?
No I don’t believe it does!
But it will open you up to demonic influence & that will cause you to struggle as His child, where you don’t need to struggle & it will effect your effectiveness & fruitfulness in serving Him!
Don’t go the way of the world, be the salt & light to them, that there’s a better way to live!
