Some of my garden now six years old. I have planted 200 trees and shrubs since moving here. I wanted to plant big trees so that I could walk underneath them in 5 years not 10 I don’t have the time. Money can’t by time and trees need time so they are the first thing I would do at each of my properties. The house improvements was the last thing on my mind because you can do them ‘ any time? ‘ as long as you could afford them or get around to them. They don’t need time.
Leafland Nursery have a motto that says;
When is the best time to plant a tree? 15 years ago.
So true.

WHERE DO YOU LOOK..there are so many examples of mature tress in all imaginable situations and plantings throughout the Wairarapa. Whenever I drive anywhere around here I drive passed trees and gardens with something unusual or interesting to show and I always say to myself I must get a photo of that. I’m starting to get the photos and this grove of oaks that have been allowed to grow together in a more natural environment I haven’t seen very often. It’s a good reminder of how these big trees accomodate each other.
It was a bit difficult to get a photo of it all together. Its starts with the photo of beautiful big gum trees and finishes with the photo with the bridge in at the end.

I HAVE DRIVEN DOWN THIS OAK AVENUE MANY TIMES THROUGH ALL THE SEASONS… the majesty of these old oak trees never fails to impress me . Thanks to the people of yesterday who had this vision for us today.

IT COULD BE A HEDGE OR A SCREEN…..OLEARIA KAIKŌURA
It’s good to get some feed back on the trees that leave here. These 8 x Olearia Kaikōura were planted to be a screen/ hedge between neighbors and it looks as if it is going to serve the purpose perfectly.
They look very attractive and a bit different to the usual pittosporum , Photinia Red Robin , Portuguese laurel trees that are very popular.
