We frequent on a Friday and always meet dogs so here they are.

Meet Tama, he’s 7.5 and old before his time. We love his grey beard and massive paws. Billie was not a fan, but whenever is she?

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH AWARD

Max has been working hard over the last few months and she is deserving of recognition for that.

- She is great for the whole team, showing the temporary members the ropes.

- She has been supervising Ali persistently to make sure she is working properly.

- She has also been working on speaking/barking only when necessary rather than when anything slightly out of the ordinary happens.

She really is a credit to the team

One out one in.

This little sweetheart started her training this week. Meet Liv (as in liver chestnut haha), she’s a 3yr old by Pure Champion.

She’s only been with us a week but has already been under saddle twice as of today and is handling everything with ease. She’s eager to learn and just had the nicest temperament.

I’m excited to see how this little lady progresses.

Nessie has gone on a well deserved break for a few weeks to rest and recouperate, and will be back in a few weeks to carry on.

Winter is a great time for retraining young race horses, and this sweet girl, Nessie, is the latest in her class.

A month ago, she was scared of the mallet, jumped sideways if another horse came in her direction and generally was just a very anxious horse.

So we took all the pressure off and let her gain trust in us and to learn at her own pace; and wow is it paying off.

Now, she’s loping around on a long rein, turning with minimal contact and stick and balling while other horses are going past her in every direction. She’s not bothered by the mallet anymore, and is happy to stand and almost fall asleep during down times.

What a transformation and what a clever (not so little) polo pony she has the potential to be.

Nessie will get maybe another week or so of work, weather pending of course, then she’ll have a well earned holiday before coming back into work in a few months.

P.s You can hear hot soft the ground is too under her feet so apologies for the terrible stick work

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH AWARD

Billie is a long serving member of the team, and is highly thought of by everybody.

Reasons for the award:

- Keeps my feet warm on the cold days by lying on them

- Maintains my security by guarding the door from all comers

- Alerts me to visitors with her rigorous barking to anyone who comes to the front door (that includes family members)

We may need to have a word with her about her attire and cleanliness as occasionally she finds her favourite treat and can’t resist a good roll - horse poo, but we won’t let that stop her

Meet the Bio-Tack NZ polo ponies for the 24/25 season all sporting their own colours to suit each of them.

These had a long season and they played amazingly.

Dazzle was a first season horse, but didn’t miss a beat.

Sparkles was playing in her last season, she is now earning a well deserved retirement.

Ali has been with us about 2 months now and she has been a breath of fresh air.

Reasons for the award:

• Endless enthusiasm, highlighted by her zoomies

• Tested multiple paper piles for their validity and structural strength

•Keeps morale high with endless chat.

•Entertains the other employees ie Max
