For anyone new to our breed, this photo illustrates very clearly the visual reasons why Caspians are not classified as a "pony".

Note the longer, more slender proportions of the Caspian (head, neck, mid-section, hindquarters/hip, legs) and the difference in head style, back construction, hindquarters. Typical horse type.

The pony is shorter coupled wider based, and compact all over with a very "rounded" appearance. Typical pony type.
