Coleraine Stud had an amazing day at the gore show yesterday! We were lucky enough to catch a fair haul of ribbons as well as the M V Dickie memorial trophy.
The weather held up and the day ran smoothly, it was a great show to be a part of.
Results-
-Waimak WG Fay (plus calf Coleraine Freya W1)
* 1st 2/3 yr old heifer with or without calf at foot
* Reserve champion senior female (M V Dickie memorial trophy)
-Coleraine Nancy V1
* 1st senior yearling heifer
* Reserve champion junior female
-Coleraine Vera V2
* 3rd junior yearling heifer
-Coleraine Banjo W4
* 2nd junior bull calf
* 1st pair of calves (with Coleraine Freya W1)
And with the combination of Fay+Freya, Nancy and Banjo, we won breeders group, this would have to be the highlight of the day!
I won my intermediate handlers class with Nancy and Hannah won the junior class with Vera… then I went on to the championship to win reserve champion overall handler
We also took 2 commercial calves out of our pet cows, Hannah had a “belted blue” (Charlie) and I had a Murray grey x Angus (Zeus)
Zeus took out champion commercial with Charlie right behind in reserve champion.
