EXCITING NEWS FROM SWEET NOAH ANIMAL RESCUE…🐾

We have secured a rural property for our rescue animals!!! 🐕🦮🐕‍🦺🐈🐈‍⬛

This is an incredibly rare opportunity that almost never comes our way and something we have NEEDED for a while now 🐾
Our landlord has offered us a 5-year fixed term lease and, most importantly, is allowing us to house and care for rescue dogs on the property. 🐶

Whether we were financially ready or not, this is something we simply couldn’t pass up. It gives us the security and space to build a safe haven for our rescues – but we urgently need your help to make it possible.

💰 By next Friday we must pay $4,800 in bond and advance rent.
On top of this, we need to cover rent on two properties for one month while the new one is secured with fencing and the current property is repaired.

If you are in a position to help us finance that month of rent, it would take an enormous weight off our shoulders.

🛠️ Phase One fencing is also a major challenge. At retail prices, it comes to around $8,000. We’ve reached out to timber suppliers, hoping for donations or discounted materials, but any support from our community will help us get this essential work underway so our rescues are safe.

👷‍♂️ And if you’re a builder, handyman, or someone with skills and want to lend a hand once we secure the materials, we would be so grateful to have you on board. Together we can make this property safe and ready for our rescues to thrive.

Recent emergency surgeries for our dogs have left our account in deficit, but this opportunity – a supportive landlord and long-term security – is too rare to miss.

Big shout out to Paws Paws - Restart for stepping up to help the mumma and pups late last night… we know all to well the late night dash to pick up a mumma and her newborn pups having done this only two weeks ago.

The photo below is from a family that reached out to us and I in turn pleaded with other rescues as we are at capacity and without Foster’s coming onboard we simply are not able to help more pups and dogs…

We the rescues are the ones who lay awake at night worrying about the multiple pups and dogs that we have to say no to on a daily basis 💔. We hope that tomorrow might bring a miracle to change things so we can help who we had to say no to the day before💔 saying no is harder than it sounds it is soul destroying 🖤

For the pups in this picture we have been in constant contact and this week I met with the family on my lunch break and gave them 3 x big bags of food for mumma and the pups. They are being looked after by the family who are dedicated to caring for these pups and we are stepping in to help find amazing homes for these pups…

This family is beautiful they did not ask for the situation that meant they were given a pregnant dog to deal with, these grandparents are doing the very best they can and only want to see these pups go to good homes…

Our team is setting up a structure over the weekend on their property to help make it more manageable for them to continue caring for these pups until we can find homes for them all 🩷🩵

We will do a post over the weekend of each pup and we are organising for them to be vaccinated 💉

We need help to cover their vaccinations so please if you can spare anything towards these pups it would be greatly appreciated 🩷🩵

Hey lovely families, is anyone in a position to foster a puppy or two? We have so many needing foster homes and we have zero!! Some are on the euthanasia list and some will just be dumped or left behind as people move. Please help us help them.

This photo was sent to us by another rescue asking if we could help and we heartbreakingly had to say no. We say no each day at least 6-10 times, which is soul destroying.

THANK YOU FRIENDS…🙏🏼

We are so grateful to our friends at PAHU BARK and to all of our caring supporters.
Today we were able to clear Nilla’s vet bill in full - thanks to your kindess ❤️‍🩹

However, our journey isn’t over yet.

As posted about yesterday, our little Matilda was found to have a broken leg and has just come through major knee surgery with our wonderfuls - Vet Trust Henderson.

This sweetheart has already had so much trauma in her short life.
When she was first dumped we got her to the vet the next day.
The vet diagnosed her with a condition which is due to severe malnutrition. As a result she would have weakened bones and teeth with no enamel. 💔
Matilda has already fought hard no dog should ever have to endure this and now she will be facing a long road of recovery.❤️‍🩹

While she is recovering, her bill is still sitting at $2,900 outstanding.

Here’s what Dr Leanne shared after surgery:

‘Matilda had a big day and she did amazing..
Three pins later and her knee bones are back in the right position. The tibial plateau and crest had fractures. She’s on a morphine drip for pain and anti-inflammatories. Tomorrow she will go home with strict rest whilst she recovers…’

Our wee girl has been through so much, and thanks to the incredible team at Vet Trust Henderson, she has every chance to live the happy, pain-free life she deserves. ❤️‍🩹

🚨 This post is necessary. 🚨

We’ve seen negative comments about vet costs, and it’s time to be clear. At Sweet Noah, we stand 100% behind our vet, our team, and the decisions we make as a rescue.

‼️ The reality is this: if you cannot commit to the lifetime cost of owning a pet including vet care then you should not own one. Pets are not disposable. And when owners fail these beautiful animals the financial and emotional burden doesn’t vanish it falls directly on rescues and their vets.

📣 Our co-director Ally said it perfectly:

“Most vets try their best to keep costs reasonable but remember, they’re often the only reason our loved ones are saved.”

💉 Vets like Dr Leanne and her team at Vet Trust Henderson don’t just provide medical treatment they save lives daily, often taking on the toughest cases. Behind every procedure are the rising costs of medication, equipment, power, leases, and wages. Her staff are skilled professionals who deserve to be paid fairly for their work, just like anyone else. Expecting vets to provide gold-standard care while criticising them for charging enough to cover costs is unfair and dangerous because without them, animals would have nowhere to go.❤️‍🩹

Here’s the truth:
✅ Vet costs are not the problem lack of accountability in pet ownership is.
✅ Broken bones, untreated injuries, preventable illnesses too many come from pets being left to roam or neglected.
✅ Rescues and vets are left to pick up the pieces, carry the cost, and shoulder the heartbreak.

💌 Instead of tearing down those who save lives, let’s stand with them. Gratitude costs nothing but means everything.

❤️‍🩹 Right now, our sweet Matilda urgently needs knee surgery after a devastating accident. The cost is $4,200. Without it, she faces a lifetime of pain. With it, she has the chance to run, play, and live the life she deserves.

🚨 EMERGENCY SURGERY TOMORROW FOR MATILDA – $4,200 NEEDED 💔🐾

Dear friends,

🙏Please, we need your help now more than ever. Today we have had two vet emergency’s 💔❤️‍🩹

Our sweet baby girl Matilda, just 6 months old, has suffered a serious injury while in foster care likely from playing a little too hard with her puppy pals. She let out a yelp, and thanks to our amazing team, help came quickly. 💔

💫 Huge thanks to the team at Brookby Lodge who acted fast to keep Matilda calm and rested.
🛻 To Fiona, who immediately drove to collect her.
🏥To Takanini Vet Hospital for seeing her urgently.
🩺 And to Jen, who’s nursing her tonight and will bring her out west tomorrow for surgery.

Today’s X-rays revealed:
🔹 A chunk of bone torn from her knee joint
🔹 A fractured growth plate

Without urgent surgery, her muscles will contract, and she’ll face a painful life of limping and early arthritis.

👩‍⚕️ Dr Leanne at Vet Trust Henderson will operate tomorrow, and with pins and wires, Matilda has an excellent chance at full recovery.

💸 Estimated cost: $4,200
This is a huge expense for our small rescue and we’re reaching out to you, our incredible community, to help us give Matilda the chance she deserves.

Dear friends, 💜

Our sweet little Nilla had a bit of an accident over the weekend in her adventurous (and slightly clumsy) way she managed to rip her nail casing off and cut between her toes. Ouch! 🐾❤️‍🩹

Thankfully, she’s in the loving care of her amazing foster family, in good spirits, and getting plenty of rest soaking up the sun on the couch. ☀️

Despite her sore paw, her tail is still wagging, reminding us what a gentle, resilient soul she is, giving Dr Leanne licks and hugs today🩷

Nilla is already booked for her desexing on 23 September, and while we do our very best to cover every vet bill, right now we need your help. 🙏

Not everyone can foster….but that doesn’t mean you can’t help ❤️‍🩹

We know becoming a foster isn’t possible for everyone. It’s a big commitment of time, space, energy, and heart ❤️

But right now, Sweet Noah is at full capacity full to overflowing, and with no new foster homes available, our ONLY option apart from saying ‘NO’ is to board some of our dogs in kennels 🏚️

Boarding costs at a discounted rate for us is around $210 per week.
A two-week stay ($420) gives each dog safety, stability, and the chance to:

⭐️Build confidence with new people
⭐️Stay secure while waiting for adoption
⭐️Give our rescue team the breathing room we desperately need to catch up and make repairs
