"My 8 month old male Cavoodle Lou and I participated in Lynsey's Real World group training course during May 2026 based on the recommendations of a friend and we weren't disappointed.

Lou is my first dog and we both needed some practical exercises to follow to ensure he becomes a calm and well-mannered dog. It was good to be able to learn and train with 8 other dogs and owners in different North Shore outdoor settings and I appreciated Lynsey's knowledgeable advice and encouragement during training, as well as receiving e-mail notes afterwards to help with practice during the week.

Auckland Dog Owners – Have You Renewed Your Dog's Registration?

Just a friendly reminder that it's time to renew your dog's Auckland Council registration.

Renew and pay by 1 August to receive the early payment discount and avoid paying the higher registration fee.

If you're eligible, you can apply for a Responsible Dog Owner Licence (RDOL), which offers an even greater discount on your annual registration. It's well worth looking into if you're a responsible dog owner and meet the criteria but this will only be valid on next years registration.

We're so excited to be working with Kita again! ❤️

Kita is a beautiful mixed-breed rescue from the SPCA and we're thrilled to be part of her journey as she grows into a calm and confident girl.

Kita sometimes finds the world around her a little overwhelming. Busy environments, new experiences, and everyday situations can be a lot to process. With patience, understanding, and positive training, she's learning the skills she needs to navigate the world with greater confidence.

A huge shout-out to Kita's owner, whose patience, kindness and dedication is incredible. Training isn't always a straight line, and it's wonderful to work with owners who are committed to understanding and supporting their dogs every step of the way.

Last night we started a new puppy class and were joined by the most adorable group of pups! 🐾

One of the topics we cover is enrichment and how important it is to keep puppies mentally stimulated, especially before they're fully vaccinated and can't explore the world as much as they'd like.

His humans hid his biscuits in a rolled-up tea towel to make mealtime more fun and engaging. A simple enrichment activity like this can help keep busy puppy brains occupied!

Meet Toby!

We recently had the pleasure of working 1-on-1 with Toby and his owners.
Toby struggles with over-arousal when he sees other dogs and finds it difficult to process outdoor environments and distractions. This can make walks challenging for both Toby and his family.

We are excited to have Toby joining our Real World Sessions, where he'll learn and thrive in a controlled environment alongside other dogs.
He'll be working on:

✅ Staying calm around other dogs
✅ Learning appropriate dog-to-dog interactions
✅ Processing distractions more effectively
✅ Building confidence and focus in real-world situations

We're looking forward to watching Toby's progress and thrive over the next few weeks 🐾🧡

I recently visited Tonga and was really struck by the number of stray dogs here.

It made me stop and really think about what life looks like for them and how limited access to vet care and animal welfare support is.

It also made me reflect on how much access to vets, education and resources shapes a dog’s health, welfare, and overall quality of life.

I met one of the “lucky ones” - the beautiful Mana from Matafouna, Ha’apai 🐶
A gentle giant and a reminder of how much difference care, health & love can make to our dogs.

I came home feeling so grateful for what we have here in New Zealand and even more aware of how important health, welfare, early training are in giving dogs the best chance at a good life 🧡🐾
