Gut health is so important. That’s why we feed fibre protect to all our horses all year round. They will also get feed prior to been ridden, travelling, competition or any stressful situation. Understanding the gut and what you are feeding is vital to an any horse/pony. We only feed the best.

Did you know the type of forage you feed your horse can directly influence hindgut pH—and overall digestive health?

📊 A 2020 study (Bäuerlein et al., Pferdeheilkunde – Equine Medicine) found:
• Horses fed meadow hay showed no meaningful change in faecal pH (7.0 → 6.65)
• Horses fed lucerne had a significant increase in faecal pH (6.85 → 7.75, p < 0.05)

It has been a sad week at Carnesso Stud.
Unfortunately Mannie was put to sleep on Monday at the age of 21. She was a beautiful mare that had achieved so much. Mannie was Charlotte’s first park hack and they won many champions and supremes. Mannie tought Charlotte a lot and they spent many weekends hacking out, beach rides, & jumping.
Amanda Gray and Mannie won Park Hack of the Year in 2012 and competed at Nationals in Werribee , Australia. We have a special friendship with Amanda now.
She was very tricky to get in foal but we were lucky enough to get Merlin out of her. The spitting image of his mum

Mill Creek Pony Club Show 8th February 2025

A quiet outing for Merlin before we made the trip to hoy.

Thank you to the Mill Creek Pony Club committee, organisers, judges and volunteers- it was a great, well run show.

Carnesso Magic Merlin worked lovely to win Champion Park Hack, then by the supreme he had a bit of a baby brain! Still managed to pull together some nice work and we were lucky to be awarded Supreme Champion Horse (his first ever Supreme 👏)
