A bit gutted I couldn’t make it to the Timaru show. Had some urgent family stuff come up on Friday, so I didn’t make it to benching.

So took some time today to get a bit of aviary work done, and since it’s pretty cold, I made some warm high protein soft food for the birds.

Kind of a perfectionist… just a bit 🤏🤣 Routine is everything to me.

Every item has its place and purpose—because when you’re managing birds, there’s no room for guessing or scrambling.

For me having a structured setup means I can focus on what really matters: The birds.

Daily tasks become second nature when everything is prepped, clean, and organized exactly where it should be. I feel at peace when all the bird supplies are organized and in their place. But i understand this is not for everyone😄

Really loving how this late hen is growing out! Can't wait to see what she looks like in a few more months.

Only 7 weeks old, had to wean off parents early as they were getting very inpatient with it. But its going to grow into a very handy bird i reckon😁

Wow! Is it just me, or has this year gone by so quickly already? 😅 Especially with the bird shows coming up so fast!

This year has definitely been one of the toughest and most challenging for me, with my recent health diagnosis and this tough breeding season. But I’m slowly getting back on my feet! 🤗 I had to slow down the breeding season due to health issues, but now that I know what’s going on, I’m finding ways to manage my health so I can continue working with my birds and achieving the goals I’ve set.

My birds are my passion—I couldn’t imagine not doing this. With a few adjustments to my routine, I should be fully back to doing what I love doing🤗

I want to say a huge thank you to all my mentors who have helped me and continue to support me along the way with my birds. I’ve met some amazing people and made lifelong friends through this journey. Thank you for always taking the time to answer my questions and guide me—I truly appreciate it. ☺

Being a mentor to someone doesn’t always come with recognition for all that you do, so I just wanted to take a moment to say how much I appreciate your input and help. It truly makes a difference, and I’m so grateful. So thankyou Michael Fuller, Cole FurnessVale
Lynn Haywood, Grant Haywood, Matthew Morgan, Toni Poad

Some people don’t realize just how much it means to help each other out. It might not seem like a big deal at the time, but to someone else, it can mean the world.😊

So breeding season is slowing down here. It has been abit of an odd and challenging season, but liking the quality of some chicks.

Heres another promising one in the nest at the moment.

I will still be breeding the real rares all year round as the show season doesn't effect them, so will have some exciting chicks coming out..

The rare varietys are sure challenging specially ones that there is very little information on, some really get your genetics mind going 😆 but thats why i love it so much. Thank goodness i have a few other breeders that like genetics as much as i do and we can figure out things together 😊.

I will share more about my discoverys in a few of the real rare varietys once i have abit more data on them.
