Not great photos sorry, but here are a few photos of some late chicks from last season.... Boy, hasn't time flown by quickly?

It's already coming up to breeding season again. ๐Ÿ™‰ I can't believe how fast time has gone.
It definitely felt weird not going to any shows this season, but I definitely needed the break.

Not sure yet if I'll be doing a big breeding season this year, as I'm still trying to catch up on so much stuff from the last two breeding seasons. And well... those who know me personally know the last two years have been a massive battle. My life literally got turned upside down, and I've had to relearn how to live this different life. It's definitely taking some getting used to, and I still have so much to catch up on.

First thing will be sorting through 300+ show budgies. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I'll be honest, it gets extremely overwhelming. Some days I feel like I need a reset button. ๐Ÿ˜ But I'm just trying to catch up on two years' worth of work. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ It's a lot!!!

Just slowly trying to get back to things, will be posting updates on things on here more often ( well I'll try my best)

Anyway, that's an update on things for me at the moment.

One of my goals as a breeder is helping preserve varieties that are becoming harder to find.

Let's talk Goldenface. ๐Ÿ’›

What a stunning variety this is!

Sadly, proper Goldenfaces are becoming harder to find these days as they are often being mixed with the Yellowface gene. This has created a lot of confusion around the variety and makes identification much more difficult.

I'm incredibly happy with the progress I'm making with my Goldenface line this year and excited to keep working with this beautiful variety.

It's taken years of work, a lot of money, and plenty of birds that turned out to be hybrids rather than true Goldenfaces. But after nearly 6 years of working with this line, I'm incredibly proud of what I've achieved. It has bred true generation after generation and consistently displays the characteristics that a true Goldenface should have.

I believe the more we understand the genetics behind our birds, the better chance we have of preserving these amazing varieties for future generations to enjoy!

Well this wee girl was the best out of the nest from her 2 other siblings.

But hen decided she didn't want her, so now i have to handrear her now. But thankfully I'm hand-rearing others for pets๐Ÿ˜Š so not much more work.

Really liking this family line, all promising birds

2 sibling CYCR not the greatest fan of these girls. As are quite pinched in, in the head and lacking the directional feather, but will see how they grow out.

Some more videos i took of cage/photo training some CYCR.

Grey green is not related to the violet hen.
