A call from owner of a 50 days old GSD, single dose DHPPiL vaccinated, had been suffering from Parvo enteritis but technicians were treating for mal-digestion and the pup was prescribed with very high dose of prokinetics. After we got call, the pup passed away before we could do any interventions. Upon Field Postmortem investigation, intussusception was revealed. The intussusception could be due to either continuous diarrhea, loss of electrolytes or unmanaged dose of prokinetics. It is requested to owner to get the veterinary services from qualified and experienced Vets only.

Hedgehogs are often admitted to Secret World with cases of ringworm. 🦔

This little hedgehog was brought in after being spotted out in the day. On arrival our animal care team found that the hedgehog was suffering from a severe case of ringworm and a high intestinal parasite burden, making him very sick.

He was started on treatment prescribed by our vet and after a couple of weeks we are happy to inform you that he has now been released.

Arrested migration of neurons to the developing surface of cerebrum results in lack of sulci and gyri in dogs. The anomaly is common in certain breed like Lhasa Apsos. Lissencephaly features a thin cerebral cortex and neurons that are randomly arranged in the deeper cortical layers, suggesting the arrested neuronal migration. Lissencephaly involves only the neocortex, as the hippocampal and olfactory lobes are normal. The clinical signs are deficient learning ability, erratic behaviors, episodic aggression, visual problems and seizures.
