I share my life with two adventure cats and through them I became increasingly aware of how limited the existing options for adventure cats truly are. When I began walking my own cats, I quickly realised that most “cat harnesses” on the market were not designed with cats in mind. Poor materials, pressure on sensitive areas, and unstable fits made walking uncomfortable and at times even unsafe—espe
cially for my boys’ slender, agile bodies. I couldn’t find equipment that felt secure, comfortable and looked pretty. I began designing harnesses that fit properly, stay stable on the body, and support movement without restriction. The goal was never control, but trust: creating a safe way for cats to explore the world alongside their humans, while offering owners peace of mind that their cat is secure. At the same time, I began to question the long-held belief that cats should roam freely without guidance. Free roaming exposes cats to traffic, fights, theft, and injury, and also carries ecological consequences. More and more people are recognising these risks and looking for alternatives that allow cats to experience the outdoors responsibly. With patience, training, and the right equipment, cats can learn to move confidently in a harness—much like dogs do—yet cats are rarely given the same time or consideration as dogs. I believe that when we invest time in training, cats reveal an incredible capacity for learning, connection, and curiosity for shared adventures. They are not animals to be left to wander alone, but companions capable of building deep bonds when we take the time to understand them. Emma Céline exists to support that belief through thoughtful design, careful craftsmanship, and equipment made to strengthen the bond between cat and human, allowing a shared adventurous life that extends beyond the home.
