PYOMETRA: A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY

Pyometra is a serious infection of the uterus that commonly affects unspayed female dogs and cats. It can progress rapidly and become life-threatening if not treated immediately.

⚠️ Common Signs:
• Loss of appetite
• Lethargy or weakness
• Increased drinking and urination
• Vomiting
• Abdominal enlargement
• Foul-smelling vaginal discharge (may not always be present)

🚨 Important: Some cases are “closed pyometra,” where no discharge is seen, making the condition even more dangerous.

💡 Prevention:
The best way to prevent pyometra is through spaying before reproductive complications develop.

🏥 When to Seek Veterinary Care:
If your pet is an unspayed female and shows any of these signs, seek veterinary attention immediately. Early diagnosis and treatment can save your pet’s life.

Heat stroke is a life-threatening emergency that can happen very quickly — especially during hot weather.

⚠️ Signs to watch for:
• Heavy panting
• Excessive drooling
• Pale or bluish gums
• Weakness or collapse
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Seizures
• High body temperature

✅ What to do:
• Move your pet to a cool area
• Offer small amounts of cool water
• Use cool wet towels
• Seek veterinary care immediately

🚫 Never leave pets inside parked cars.
💧 Always provide fresh water and shade.

Early action can save your pet’s life. 🐾
