He’s pretty laid-back for a GSD, but don’t be fooled — he still enjoys his daily patrols, sniffing missions, and staying close to his people.

Meet Jasper …

If you know this breed, you know they are often confused with the Pitbull breed. Jasper is, in fact, of the Mastiff breed. These are big, lovable, and fiercely loyal dogs with their families. But, they take great patience when transitioning to a new family, and an unfamiliar dwelling. And, they definitely do not do well in a shelter setting.

Ideally, we want this boy to go back home. But, if his family cannot find him, we don’t want him to languish in the shelter. A forced, extended time in a shelter may not end well for Jasper. If adopted, we are looking for an experienced Cane Corso handler. They are out there and they understand this breed very well.

Jasper is thought to be three years of age and has a lot of living to do. He presents with what is called “cherry eye” which is brought on by stress. This condition is very, very fixable. Pay It Forward For Pets is willing to fund the correction of his eye for the present owner, should they come forward, or a new adopter. It’s a quick, simple surgery.

Vince has graduated from AU with a degree in statistics and Ty is accepting an internship for his last year of college.
