You've finished your manuscript; now what?
For many indie authors, typing "The End" feels like crossing the finish line.
In reality, it's the beginning of the publishing journey.
Over the years, I've seen talented writers make the same mistake: they rush to publish because they're excited to share their work. I understand the excitement, but publishing too soon can mean overlooking issues that readers will notice.
Before you hit the "Publish" button, take a step back and ask yourself:
1. Has the manuscript been professionally edited?
2. Are there plot holes, inconsistencies, or sections that need strengthening?
3. Is the formatting ready for both print and eBook?
4. Does the cover reflect the quality of what's inside?
5. Have you written a compelling book description that encourages readers to click "Buy"?
Writing the manuscript is only one part of publishing a successful book.
The authors who consistently earn positive reviews don't just write well; they prepare their books well.
Give your manuscript the time and attention it deserves. A few extra weeks spent refining your book can make a lasting difference in how readers experience it.
