❌❌ CANINE PAPILLOMA VIRUS ❌❌

Before vs After ✂️

Rikar is a 5 Months old boerboel who came into our clinic () to have a surgery on his papilloma’s after he did not improve on medication. His surgery included, cautery and blunt dissection.

Papilloma’s are small, generally benign growths or warts, that can be caused by the canine papilloma virus (CPV). Papilloma viruses are species-specific which means it can spread from dog to dog but not from human to dog. They can be spread through direct contact, by contaminated objects such as water/feeding bowls, toys, and floors, and possibly by insects.

As implied in its name, oral papilloma’s affect the area around a dog’s mouth, including its lips, skin around its muzzle and the tongue (as seen in the image)

Multiple papilloma’s are generally seen in young dogs and puppies, as the dog’s immune system has not matured enough to fight off the virus.

Rikar’s surgery was successful and he is recovering well.

To ensure they continue to live their best life in their new home, the owner will be giving out new bag of Royal canin crunchy, Felix pouch, cat carrier, litter box, litter sand and other cat accessories.

Prior to their adoption, all 5 cats are living their best life! We would love a home where they will be loved and cared for.
