Both blind and abandoned from puppy mill breeding, we share similar medical challenges. This page raises awareness and shows that blind dogs can live happy, normal lives.

Hi everyone! 🐾💖

My name is Dior Hope. I’m a blind Shih Tzu–Poodle mix and a proud survivor of puppy mill breeding. I have Grade 4 patella luxation in both my back legs and Cerebellar Abiotrophy (CA), which is what caused my blindness—but none of that stops me from loving life!

I was rescued at around 2 months old by some incredibly kind humans. I spent a few months in a boarding home before finally being fostered and then adopted by my amazing Mummy and Nanny Novy.

I’m a picky eater, a professional toy destroyer, and I absolutely love annoying my fur sisters—Elsa Faith and Holly. I may be the baby of the house, and I try very hard to be the pack leader… but Elsa Faith has made it clear she’s still the queen 👑😂.

My favorite things? Belly rubs, cuddles, and lots of love. Everyone says I’m a total hugglebug, and honestly, I agree.
By joining this page, I hope to help spread awareness that special-needs dogs like me deserve loving homes too. We may be different, but we have just as much love (and mischief!) to give. 🐶✨

Sorry I haven’t been updating as often as I should. Mummy has been juggling so much lately — work, business travels, my monthly check-ups with Dr. Melissa, and my weekly acupuncture sessions. But don’t worry, all is well. My kidney results went up a little, but everything is under control. I’ve still been getting all the love, cuddles, and pampering I want. 💕
During this quiet month, something special happened. Mummy came across another puppy with a story very similar to mine — backyard bred, many health issues, and completely blind. When she read her story, she just couldn’t walk away. She reached out to give this little one the loving home she truly deserves.
Grandma lives just a few houses away, so this new puppy is staying with her, and Mummy and Nanny Novy are sharing the responsibility of caring for her. Her name is Dior Hope — a 7-month-old blind Shih Tzu–Poodle mix (we think!) with grade 4 patella issues that will require surgery in the future.
Normally, I get a little jealous when Mummy or Nanny gives attention to other dogs… but with Dior, I understand. 💛
Mummy will be adding Dior to this page soon so everyone can follow her journey too. As always, the purpose of this page is to educate and spread awareness that blind dogs can live happy, normal, beautiful lives. We hope that by sharing our stories, more people will open their hearts and homes to pups like us — because our “imperfections” are truly perfect in every way.

Hello dear friends,

Apologies for the long silence — Mummy has been super busy with work and lots of business travels lately. But don’t worry, I’ve still been getting all the love and care I need from Nanny! 💕

I’ve had a few follow-up visits with my lovely vet, Dr. Melissa. Because of my condition, I go in for monthly check-ups and quarterly blood tests to make sure I’m doing okay. The good news is, I’ve recently stopped one of my pain medications — the one that could’ve been a bit harsh on my kidneys. 🐶✨ Small wins!

I’m still on other pain relief meds, plus my regular medication and supplements. As you know, I’m 11+ years young now, and with age comes a few more aches and pains. I limp a bit more these days, especially during feeding time. So, following the vet's advice, Mummy got me a special doggy wheelchair to help me move around more comfortably.
Now, I wasn’t too thrilled about it at first (a princess has her preferences! 👑), but Nanny is introducing it to me slowly. She’s making it fun and playful so I don’t feel scared or forced. It’s been a week now, and we’re taking baby steps. When I’m finally ready to roll, Mummy will share some photos here for you all to see! 🎉🐾

Otherwise, I’m still my usual royal self — demanding cuddles, attention, and being part of everything Mummy and Nanny do. Yes, even during their mealtimes, I insist on sitting with them at the dining table. A princess must never be left out! 😄
Mummy and Nanny always say they love me just as I am — as long as I’m not in pain and staying as healthy as possible, that’s what matters most. 💖

Last Friday, Mum noticed something wasn’t quite right with me — I was unusually quiet and a bit wobbly on my paws. She wasted no time and got me in to see Dr. Melissa the very next day. Turns out, my pain had come back, so I had to start on some strong painkillers again.
Today’s follow-up with Dr. Melissa brought some good news — I’m showing great progress! My pain meds have been reduced, and I’m feeling much more like myself: bossy, cheeky, and just a little bit mischievous (as usual!).
I’ll be on these meds for another two weeks before my next check-up, but things are definitely looking up.

Just woke up from my slumber, looking as cute as ever with my little mouth in an “O” shape and my soft, kissable lips — Mummy says I’m too adorable for words! 💕 I had my car ride, munched on a crunchy apple, got my LLLT treatment, squeezed in a cozy nap, and now… it’s dinner time! 🐾🍎
