Another successful day in the South! Slowly chipping away at the problem in Cité la Chaux and surrounding areas and starting to see a difference! We will keep at it, as we now have a great location to work out of - just need the funds to help us keep going! Race Recap: KFC Semi-Marathon (21.1km)

That was a phenomenal race, one that I felt like I needed to come back and conquer. I had to hold back from the start as it almost felt easy.. i was hitting my half marathon pace way too early, but it was very controlled with a heart rate staying mostly in Zone 3 (Z2 is just not achievable for me in a race setting, but i have been trying exceptionally hard to train in Z2, which for me is sub 163 bpm 😂). The first 10km flew by and my legs kicked into gear at the turnaround point. I know the course and it’s a long slog coming back, an ever so slight incline, so my HR started spiking and on km 16 i hit 5’00/km. Slight panic as this was faster than my planned pace to hit from km 17, but my legs latched on and my last 2km were sub 5-min 🫨🫨🫨

It was a great race, well managed, I feel like I could have gone faster, but that was not the goal today! This semi sets me up nicely for my marathon, planned for 27th September 2026, 10 weeks out and i am super excited! Another race and another distance I want to attempt again!

June 2026: Running update 🏃‍♀️ ✨

It has been a fabulously consistent month of running, lots of interval training and lots of long, slow runs. Mostly 3 runs per week, sometimes 4. Occasionally a run in the morning, a run in the afternoon. Current goal: KFC semi-marathon next Sunday! I would love to hit a sub-2 hour time, I am pretty sure I have the legs for it, so it will be an exciting race 💪

My gorgeous little friend has grown and boy, did I need some puppy love today!! 😍

The last few days have been hard and my heart hurts for my clients who have had to say goodbye to their fur babies. It’s always a difficult decision for pet owners and even if it is the “right” thing to do by their animal to alleviate suffering, that doesn’t make it easier. Navigating through the rollercoaster of emotions while providing the service is so challenging. It is of utmost importance to me to make that transition as peaceful for my patient, as well as for their owner, but it does not get easier with time 💔

Give your babies an extra big hug tonight and love them as fiercely as you possibly can 🫶
