Don’t get us wrong. Dog registration is a good thing! But the logistics of how 300,000 dogs can be registered in 5 sites within the deadline of 2 months is baffling. We are assuming that 5 sites will be ready soon to propose registration. Right now it’s 2 only.

Here’s the simple maths:

2 months = 60 days
300,000/60 =5,000 dogs per day
5000/5 sites = 1000 dogs need to be registered per site per day (including Sundays and public hols)

1000 dogs needing to be registered in 8 hours means a dog has to be registered every 2 mins every day in all 5 sites during 60 days.

Every 2 mins!! We all know what happens when you put many dogs in one place 😅

So our recommendations are:
1. to increase drastically the number of sites
2. to canvas regions to encourage pet owners to register and to do the registration in their homes
3. to extend the deadline
4. to make it FREE so that people do not abandon their pets because they are scared of the Rs100,000 fine because they don’t own a car, they cannot catch their dog, they cannot afford rs350 per dog, etc
