ආදරණීය මහසෙන්, නුඹ දැන් ගොඩක් වයසක වුනත් නුඹ තව චිරාත් කාලයක් මේ පොළෙවෙහි ජීවත් විය යුතුයි . නුඹ පිලිබදව තවමත් නිශ්චිත රාජකාරීමය තොරතුරක් වාර්තා වී නැත. අතිශයින්ම බුද්දිමත් සත්ව කොට්ඨාසයක් වන ඔබලා පිලිබදව හොදින් දනිමි. මිනිසා හැරුණු කොට සත්ව ලෝකය තුල මිය ගිය පසු අවසන් ගෞරව දක්වමින් අවමංගල්‍ය කටයුතු සිදු කරන එකම සත්ව කොට්ඨාසය නුඹලයි.

මිය ගිය සගයා වටා එක් වී ගෞරව කොට, එම සිරුර දිරාපත් වීමට කොළ අතු වලින් වසා කාලයක් පුරාවටම අවසන් කටයුතු කරන බුද්ධිමත් සත්ව කොට්ඨාසයකටයි නුඹත් උරුම. අසා තිබෙනවා සමනොළ කන්ද පාමුල ඇති ඇත් සොහොනක් පිලිබදව. මිය යන්නට ආසන්න අලි ඇතුන් යන එම ඇත් සොහොනට නුඹත් ගොස් ඇතැයි ඇතැමුන් පවසයි.

You belong to a race that gathers around a fallen companion, honors them, covers the body with leaves and branches, and stays for a long time to mourn. I’ve heard of the elephant graveyard at the foot of Samanala Kanda. Some say that elephants who feel death nearing go there…and maybe you’ve gone too.

But my heart refuses to believe it.
