BRAHMA CHICKEN

① Origin – The Brahma chicken was developed in the United States in the mid‑1800s from large Asian breeds, mainly from China and India.

② Appearance – Known as the “King of Chickens,” Brahmas are massive birds with feathered legs, broad bodies, and gentle expressions. They come in beautiful varieties such as Light, Dark, and Buff, each with striking plumage patterns.

③ Temperament – Calm, gentle, and friendly. Despite their giant size, Brahmas are easy to handle and make excellent additions to backyard flocks and family farms.

④ Egg Production – They lay about 150–200 large brown eggs per year, often continuing to lay well during the colder months when other breeds slow down.

⑤ Hardiness – Extremely cold‑tolerant thanks to their heavy feathering and size. They thrive in cooler climates but may struggle in very hot weather without proper shade and ventilation.

⑥ Use – A true dual‑purpose breed, valued for both meat and eggs. Their impressive size and beauty also make them popular ornamental birds admired worldwide.

🌿 The Brahma chicken is celebrated for its size, beauty, and gentle nature—making it both a practical farm bird and a stunning showpiece for poultry keepers.
