Juvenile Boomslang (Dispholidus typus) from Vaalwater, Limpopo. They hatch at about 40 cm in length and are grey brown with large emerald eyes. Once they reach a length of about 1 m they change to the adult colours. This snake may also be confused with the vine snake but has a very large emerald eye. Highly venomous.
