マイケル フォルクナー ジャッジ
The sport of Purebred Dogs has been an integral part of Michael Faulkner’s life. As a youngster Michael was active in Junior Showmanship and quickly established a love for the Golden Retriever and Field Spaniel breeds.
During the late 1970’s Faulkner pursued his education earning his BFA, MS.ED, from Alfred University, Alfred, New York while maintaining his breeding program and actively showing his Golden Retrievers, Field Spaniels, Springer Spaniels and Pointers.
Michael has owned, bred and exhibited numerous multiple Best-in-Show winning Golden Retrievers along with owning and breeding champions in the following breeds: Field Spaniel, Pointer, English Springer Spaniel, Black & Tan Coonhound and Pug. He owes his passion and knowledge for the sport to his “English Mum” the late Mrs. Peggy Grayson (judge/breeder/author) who unselfishly took him under her wing as a youngster, providing decades of mentoring.
Faulkner retired as a professional handler in 1995 and immediately embarked on a judging career. Michael is approved to judge all Sporting / Herding / Hound breeds and numerous Toy & Working breeds. He is proud of his numerous national specialty assignment, international judging experiences (World Dog Show 2018), and multiple invitations to judge at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club, including both the Sporting and Herding Groups.
In addition to exhibiting dogs at the breed level, Michael is active in making sure their Golden Retrievers are truly the “dual purpose gundog”. Faulkner is especially proud to be one of a handful of breeders to have produced several Ch. BISS winning Master Hunter, Senior Hunter and Junior Hunter tilted dogs.
Michael continues his Golden Retriever breeding program with his partner: Dr. Ann Greenbank, under the “Verdoro and Woodspoint” prefixes and spends countless hours mentoring new judges on several of the Gundog breeds.
Michael is an active member of the Westminster Kennel Club, Middle Peninsula Kennel Club of Virginia, Golden Retriever Club of America, Morris & Essex Kennel Club, Westchester Kennel Club, and Lower James River Golden Retriever Club
When Michael is not judging dog shows he keeps busy with his artwork, running, gardening, writing and serves as the Executive Director for a Health Clinic.
