My name is Carol Beadle and I have lived in Jersey for 43 years. I have been training dogs for almost 33 years and have recently decided to offer my experience and expertise on a One 2 One basis. My aim is to support owners and their dogs to enjoy happier relationships. This is achieved by addressing common dog behaviour problems with a calm approach and positive training. Dog behaviour is the act
ion that is displayed by your dog in response to either environmental, social or physical triggers. Some of these actions may be inappropriate or dangerous such as aggression towards people or other dogs. As well as teaching your dog to respond to certain commands such as 'sit', 'stay', 'come', 'down' etc, walk to heel, retrieve in different environments, I can also help with a broad range of dog problems and training issues; from getting started with your new puppy, to cases of aggression. I have been training dogs for almost 33 years. I have personally owned Golden and Flatcoat Retreivers, Border Collies and German Shepherds but I have trained Miniature Poodles, Labradoodles, Cairn Terriers to name but a few. I have represented Jersey for 3 years at the Crufts World Cup Obedience competition - 2007/08/09). My highest achievement in the individual results was to be placed fifth in the world. I was the first person in the Channel Islands to obtain an Obedience Warrant in 1986. (an Obedience Warrant will be issued for a dog that has obtained 14 points by winning first prizes in Novice, Class A, Class B and/or Class C (Open), whilst ineligible to compete in Championship Class C. Once achieved you may enter your dog at shows with the graded title, OW). I have trained all my dogs to C Class which is the top class in obedience. I have been the president of the Jersey Junior Handlers (2011) and have been an instructor at the Jersey Junior Handlers and the Jersey Dog Training Club. I have judged in the UK, Guernsey and Jersey. I have qualified my present dog 'Gus' for Jersey Dog of the Year (2012/2013) and also qualified a Golden Retreiver for 'Ticket' in the UK (Ticket is higher than Class C and if you win a ticket class you get to Crufts).
