Busy Sunday! Sammy, our gentle and affectionate 11-year-old Min Pin, has decided it's time to leave the sanctuary. When a family reached out to find a perfect companion for their 91-year-old, active father, we invited them to the sanctuary to meet some of the residents. He recently had to rehome a 3-year-old boxer to a fabulous family that his wife got as a puppy, but once she was admitted to longer-term care with Alzheimer's, the kids knew a three-year-old boxer was too much for their father, but he definitely needed a canine companion. Sammy was hands down a perfect fit. Sammy isn't a pack mentality dog; he is a Velcro dog to his person. The children live next door, so this was a no-brainer. Sammy is just what the doctor ordered. We'll keep you posted as we get updates with this heartwarming story.

Toby and Dolly, the Puggle duo, have arrived. Family members handled their transportation from Harrisburg, PA to Tunkhannock, PA. Upon their arrival, the forever foster family met with the group, enabling introductions and a seamless transfer. We will share updates from the foster family as they become available. The dogs seemed very happy and you couldn't ask for a better foster family. Toby and Dolly are now living in the country thirty minutes from the sanctuary.

As I read through posts from friends thanking their husbands for their help with rescue efforts, I'm reminded of the significant contributions our husbands make. While women may be the face of rescue initiatives, our husbands provide invaluable support. I'm grateful to have Paul Cassidy as my partner, who goes above and beyond in his efforts to transport animals, communicate with senior citizens, and manage the complex logistics of animal care. Brady is a 14-year-old Yorkie with a heart full of love and a story that breaks ours. After his beloved mom passed away, this gentle soul was surrendered to a shelter by family who could no longer care for him. Now he’s looking for a quiet, loving place to rest his paws.

Brady is a kind, easygoing boy who gets along well with other dogs and just wants to be near his person. He’s not asking for much — just a warm bed, a soft touch, and someone to remind him he’s still loved.

This sweet old man deserves comfort, care, and kindness in his golden years. He’s available for foster or foster-to-adopt through Peyton’s Place Animal Rescue.
