Eleventh Hour Rescue is made up of dedicated individuals who believe that innocent pets deserve love and a place to live where they are honored and cared for. We rescue dogs and cats at the "eleventh hour"--when they are scheduled to be put to death by shelters who can no longer care for them. We give the dogs and cats all the medical attention they require, a place to live, and through our adopti

on services, a second chance at a happy and fulfilled life. We are affiliated with many like-minded animal groups throughout the United States. We invite caring people to join us as volunteers and graciously accept help in the form of time, supplies and monetary contributions. Eleventh Hour Rescue is a 100% volunteer organization funded exclusively by donations.

🆘 URGENT: We Need Cat Food & Litter 🐾💙

We just took in several new cats straight from the cold, and we’re doing everything we can to keep them warm, fed, and safe. But our supplies are running low — especially on the items we go through fastest.

What we need most:
• Fancy Feast (wet food)
• Clumping cat litter

If you’re able to donate, it will help us feed and care for these sweet newcomers as they settle in and begin their journey to safe, loving homes.

Thanks to a generous group of supporters, the adoption fees for 18 adult dogs, 7 months old and over, have been sponsored! 5 have already been spoken for, so we’re down to 13 and they’re going fast!

Anya & the Snowtastic Winter Puppies ❄️🐾 4-Week Update

Anya’s Snowtastic Winter Puppies just turned 4 weeks old, and this mama is finally doing so much better. She’s still caring for her babies, and she proudly helps “clean up” their food tray after every meal (she insists it’s part of her job 😆).

And the best news?

✨ Anya has finally kicked her fevers to the curb. ✨

After countless vet visits and treatments for her severe double ear infections, hematoma, anemia, skin infection, and a debilitating intestinal infection — plus narrowing down the right food for her — she is finally feeling relief. Her stomach is settling, her energy is returning, and we’re hopeful she’ll begin gaining weight soon.

For the first time in a long time, Anya is acting like the puppy she never got to be — playing in the yard, chewing bones on her dog bed, and soaking up every cuddle she can get. Her favorite place in the world? Curled up in her foster mama’s lap during TV time. She is, truly, the sweetest soul.

The puppies — Snowball, Snowflake, Jack Frost, Chilly, Blizzard, Avalanche, Yeti, Arctic, Glacier, Ice Ice Baby, and Winter — are now eating solids and will be available online in about two weeks.

Today is the day!

Eleventh Hour Rescue will have adoptable animals in a cozy cabin at the Jefferson Winter Stroll — come find your fur-ever snuggle buddy just in time for the holidays! ❄️🎄

MORE DETAILS:
Come Join us on Sunday, December 7th for the return of The Jefferson Winter Stroll! There will be events and food for all. Enjoy a walk through the little bit of a Hallmark winter movie while using your passport to travel through the camp and see Santa in Person!

Take a stroll through Candy Cane Lane, visit our local vendor holiday shopping buildings, stop at the mayors marshmallows and have a bite. Visit the Food trucks, grab some hot cocoa, and sit in on the events in the amphitheater and movie theatre. See the toy solider on stilts, meet Rudolph, gingerbread man, Grinch and Cindy Lou Who.......there is so much to see and do!

Darlene is a 10-month-old Hound/Lab mix who’s as sweet as she is beautiful. She’s really come out of her shell! Now she greets visitors at her gate, ready to play. Darlene LOVES toys and has the best time chasing and carrying them around. After playtime, she’s just as happy to relax on the turf with her toy, soaking up pets and attention.

Pacino is a 4-month-old Cattle Dog mix who came all the way from Louisiana with a heart full of love and a name that means peace — and honestly, he lives up to it. This little guy is 20 lbs of soft fur, big bat ears, goofy charm, and pure joy.

This 5-year-old, 27-lb American Eskimo Dog is looking for a new place to call home — and he hopes it’s forever this time. 💙

Milo is a sweet little gentleman who adores people of all ages (including kids!) once he warms up. He’s good with other dogs, house-trained, gentle, and an absolute pleasure on leash. Milo can be a bit timid with new people or bigger dogs, but he settles in quickly and shows his affectionate, eager-to-please personality.

Espresso says "THANK YOU!"

Thanks to your kindness, we reached our $50,000 Giving Tuesday goal — and countless animals will get the second chance they deserve.

Your support means emergency care, safe shelter, and a path to loving homes for the dogs, cats, and small animals who depend on us. We couldn't do any of it without you, and we’re endlessly grateful for your generosity and compassion.

His letter has been sent to Santa 🎅🏼 and Espresso is asking for just one thing… a home

Espresso is wondering what he has to do to find his forever home? Our volunteers made him the November Dog of the Month for extra exposure, an email blast went out to our subscribers asking for help finding a home, and he’s even been a Diamond Dog with a sponsored adoption fee. Yet, Espresso still waits in a kennel run for his family to find him. Despite meeting potential fosters and adopters during his special month, no one has decided to take a chance on this handsome boy and take him home. Espresso was truly on his best behavior during a meet this past weekend that included two other dogs, but they didn’t take him home. 🥺 Our kennel staff and volunteers are just heartbroken to think of this loving, friendly, goofy, and smart boy being passed over again and again. We know that the perfect forever home is out there for Espresso, but they just haven’t found him yet. We are hoping we can find it for him as soon as possible so that he can be home for the holidays 🎄.

Espresso is a shepherd mix who is a little over 2 and a half years old and 60lbs. He’s a friendly boy who loves people and is good with other dogs! Espresso rides nicely in the car and enjoys going on whatever adventure you might like to take him on- hiking, swimming, running, to the pet store- you name it! You might even want to call him Messi because he also loves to play soccer. ⚽️ While he loves to keep active, Espresso is also content to chill with you on the couch at the end of a long day. He really is the whole package and we can’t believe someone hasn’t scooped him up yet.

Can you help us find Espresso his family? We are looking for a foster or adoptive family to get him out of our kennel and into a home as he’s struggling in the kennel environment. Please share him! If you’re interested in him, visit ehrdogs.org and mention his name!
