Edit and Pluto working on canter pirouettes here. Pluto well flexing his haunches lifting his neck with his poll the highest point in order to raise his forehand still being "in hand". Clearly you can see here the higher the poll the smaller the angle between poll and lower part of the neck. Poll flexion has to be in correct relation to the elevation of the horses neck. The lower the neck the more the poll needs to open and vice versa.
