A matter of skin: Tata’s story.
Tata is a 3-year-old cat whose owner contacted me in April 2023 for an online consultation. Tata had a severe skin condition that has been persisting for two years.

For the past two years, Tata has been suffering of intense itching, severe wounds caused by constant scratching, chronic diarrhea (her weight was 3.3 kg) and significantly reduced quality of life.
Numerous treatments have been attempted before our consultation, including various diets, different topical treatments, oral medications, antibiotic therapies, corticosteroid/immunosuppressive treatments, laser therapy on the skin, and more—yet none has resolved the issue.

At the time of my consultation, Tata’s itching was extremely severe, and she was no longer responding to corticosteroids or the treatments she has been receiving for a long time.

I gradually reduced her corticosteroid therapy and introduced a new treatment plan consisting of:

• An hypoallergenic diet
• Parasites control treatments
• A traditional immunomodulatory drug
• Three medicinal plants and two medicinal mushrooms with immunomodulating, soothing, disinfectant, antibiotic, and anti-itch properties
• A topical spray based on plants with disinfectant and skin- regenerating effects.

After just a few weeks, Tata showed significant improvement—not only in her skin condition and itching (note the difference in her posture: a hunched, pain-stricken position in the first photo versus a relaxed grooming posture in the second), but also in her intestinal health: in a month and a half, her weight increased from 3.3 kgs to 3.6 kgs and the chronic diarrhea has disappeared.
Thank you so much, Tata!

Jack: The Dog Who Wanted to Live!
Jack is a magnificent 11-year-old German Shepherd that I visited in 2020 for an acute lameness in his left rear leg and extreme pain. After the necessary tests, Jack's diagnosis turned out to be the worst imaginable: osteosarcoma. His owners weren’t ready to proceed with euthanasia, so immediately after the CT scan, the affected limb (which showed extensive and severe bone lysis throughout the entire distal portion of the femur) was amputated. The histological analysis, following limb amputation, confirmed the diagnosis of grade 3 osteoblastic osteosarcoma (GRADING SYSTEM KIRPENSTEIJN ET AL., 2002).
Traditional chemotherapy was proposed, which could have given Jack a life expectancy of 4 to 6 months. The owners firmly refused traditional chemotherapy and asked me to set up an alternative treatment plan. For Jack, I prescribed:
• An oncological nutritional therapy with a specially formulated diet
• Homeopathic/homotoxicological chemotherapy
• Supportive therapy with medicinal plants and homeopathic/homotoxicological remedies
• Management of oncological and neuropathic pain with homeopathic/homotoxicological remedies, plus two conventional drugs.
Jack, to the absolute disbelief of both the oncologist and the surgeon, gave us 24 months of life—with a very good quality of it! Thank you so much Jack, what an incredible adventure you have been!

This is Holly, a beautiful one-and-a-half-year-old European kitten. In March 2023, Holly started experiencing skin problems (itching, dry dermatitis, etc.) and underwent several cycles of cortisone and supportive therapies, initially with poor results, and later with no effect.

Holly's owner contacted me for an online consultation at the end of May 2023. During the consultation, Holly was experiencing what the owner described as "increasingly hysterical and nervous itching", had lesions on various parts of her body, was underweight, drank a lot of water, didn't play anymore, had a poor appetite, foul-smelling stools, and when any part of her body touched certain surfaces (sofa, bed, floor), she would react by jumping and twitching in a way the owner described as "like receiving an electric shock." Holly was able to walk, sit, and lie down only on wooden surfaces and certain types of fabrics.

My medical opinion was that Holly’s problems were immune-mediated, and the strange behaviors occurred touching some kinds of surfaces were likely due to hyperesthesia (a skin reaction caused by excessive sensitization of the skin and nerves from the constant chronic itching).

For Holly, I prescribed a specifically formulated hypoallergenic diet, treatment with a traditional immunomodulatory drug, and various immunomodulating herbs. After one month, I could stop the traditional immunomodulatory drug and continued the treatment with two medicinal mushrooms and one plant.

Until today, Holly hasn't got further skin problems, has gained weight, has started to play again, is much more relaxed, her appetite has improved, her stools no longer smell, the lesions on the skin have disappeared, she no longer suffers from hyperesthesia, and she can walk or lie down everywere she desires.

Thank you, Holly!

This is Mia, a 5-year-old French Bulldog.
At the age of 2, Mia began experiencing severe urinary symptoms.
Mia’s symptoms included: urinary incontinence, significant pain during urination, blood in the urine, severe inflammation of the urinary tract and more.

Mia was treated with traditional therapy (antibiotics and painkillers), but there were only partial results.
Despite the treatments her symptoms returned regularly and each recurrence lasted for weeks. Mia was suffering greatly.

Diagnostic tests (bloodwork, urinalysis, abdominal ultrasound, and urinary tract endoscopy) led to the diagnosis: Mia suffers from urethral sphincter incompetence. Mia’s urethral sphincter cannot close properly (it remains open), resulting in severe bladder wall inflammation, significant lesions, and recurrent bacterial infections.

For Mia I prescribed:

- A specially tailored homemade diet.

- A therapy using four medicinal plants and three medical mushrooms to reduce urinary tract inflammation, repair lesions in the bladder wall, and limit bacterial adhesion to the bladder wall.

Mia made a full recovery, and two years later, she has had no relapses.
Thank you so much, Mia, you adorable little bat-eared sweetheart!

This is Biagio, a magnificent 9-and-a-half-year-old European cat.
In May 2023, Biagio underwent routine tests, and a significant liver issue was discovered. Biagio presented liver values that I had never seen before (not even in my career), he was vomiting, and was severely jaundiced.
After thorough investigations, I determined that Biagio's diagnoses were threefold:

Hepatic amyloidosis secondary to aseptic cholangitis, combined with chronic pancreatitis.
Hepatic amyloidosis is considered a rare disease in cats.
The information we currently have about this condition in cats includes:

It is a disease involving a baseline inflammatory state, leading to the accumulation of amyloid substance in organs (primarily the liver and kidneys), impairing their function.
In 95% of cases, it is multi-organ (affecting the liver, kidneys, and other organs), even if one organ is primarily involved.
It mainly targets the kidneys as the primary organ and, very rarely, the liver (making Biagio a rare case of a rare condition).
The condition has a poor prognosis (it is fatal).
There are currently no available treatments.
Traditional medicine cannot help us yet!
The aseptic cholangitis and chronic pancreatitis complicate the picture further.

For Biagio, I implemented:

A nutritional therapy with a homemade diet tailored to address his liver, pancreatic, and likely kidney involvement.
Therapy with a medicinal mushroom and various medicinal plants with a strong affinity for the liver.
After a few months of therapy (by February 2024), Biagio started improving. He no longer vomited, and his liver values began to decrease.
With all the caution that such a serious case requires, we started to breathe a sigh of relief.

As of today (11 months later), Biagio is still with us and doing remarkably well! He continues his therapy with medicinal plants and mushrooms, as well as his specific diet for the three conditions.
He enjoys an excellent quality of life, his liver values have further improved (some are now within the normal range), and Biagio is asymptomatic.

Here’s to another 11 months with Biagio, and many more to come!
Thank you so much, Biagio!
