I need to accept that you cannot change the world all alone😔
Despite my desire, I must submit my formal resignation. I cannot begin to say how difficult it will be for me to be apart from my lovely animals but it has become obvious that this position is not suitable for me anymore due to irreconcilable differences with the administration. It is now apparent that the possibility for me to be of any further help no longer exists. I am truly sorry about this fact and I know the animals there need my help, so I will be happy to help them at least in veterinary issues which I do not know if I am going to be asked for.
This is an extremely difficult time for me as I have tried to do my best for the Zoo and its animals, some of which have unfortunately been sold to the nonstandard places and I also believe the emphasis of the zoo is not on animal welfare, conservation and education anymore. I hope to see better days and a better future for my lovely Tehran Zoological Garden which I have really been a great fan of since my childhood.
I am not sure if they still want to continue following EAZA standards or not and I am really sorry for that.
As an Iranian we need to be hopeful for the future all the time as I can do nothing to change this situation right now.
