Utkarsh “Stray Together” event featured in the Navrashtra newspaper!
On April 13, 2025, Utkarsh organised an event at Piramal Revanta Housing Society in Mulund, where we demonstrated various strategies to minimise human-animal conflicts.
१३ एप्रिल २०२५ रोजी, उत्कर्षने मुलुंड येथील पिरामल रेवंता हाउसिंग सोसायटीमध्ये “स्ट्रे टुगेदर” हा कार्यक्रम आयोजित केला. या कार्यक्रमामध्ये मानव आणि प्राण्यांमधील संघर्ष टाळण्यासाठी विविध उपाययोजनांवर चर्चा करण्यात आली.

Animals have legal rights, a fact not everyone is aware of. To raise awareness about animal rights and the growing incidents of cruelty against animals, Utkarsh conducted a workshop on the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act at Kanjurmarg Police Station on April 23, 2025.
The session was led by Adv. Gayatri Halaye ji and attended by police personnel. Satish Gaikwad ji, Utkarsh trustee, was also present. We sincerely thank Assistant Police Inspector Yogesh Dabhade ji of Kanjurmarg Police Station for his support.
प्रत्येकाला माहिती नसलेला एक महत्त्वाचा मुद्दा म्हणजे प्राण्यांना देखील कायदेशीर हक्क आहेत. प्राण्यांच्या हक्कांबाबत जागरूकता निर्माण करण्यासाठी आणि प्राण्यांवरील वाढत्या क्रूरतेच्या घटनांवर प्रकाश टाकण्यासाठी उत्कर्षने २३ एप्रिल २०२५ रोजी कांजुरमार्ग पोलिस ठाण्यात “प्राणी क्रूरता प्रतिबंध अधिनियम” (PCA Act) विषयी जागृकता सत्राचे आयोजन केले.
या सत्राचे नेतृत्व ऍड. गायत्री हळये जी यांनी केले, या सत्रामध्ये पोलिस कर्मचारी सहभागी झाले होते. उत्कर्ष ग्लोबल फाउंडेशन चे विश्वस्त सतीश गायकवाड जी देखील याठिकाणी उपस्थित होते. आम्ही कांजुरमार्ग पोलिस ठाण्याचे सहाय्यक पोलिस निरीक्षक योगेश दभाडे जी यांनी दिलेल्या मोलाच्या पाठिंब्यासाठी मन:पूर्वक आभारी आहोत.

Utkarsh Global Foundation, always at the forefront of rabies prevention through the Utkarsh Rabies Mukti Mission and Animal Birth Control programme, was proud to host a seminar on rabies prevention and awareness in collaboration with the BMC.
The informative and educational talk by Dr. Sneha Tatelu, Senior Veterinary Officer & Rabies Nodal Officer, BMC, covered important topics such as rabies vaccination protocols, post-exposure prophylaxis, animal handling and safety measures, as well as community awareness and education.
The event was held at Utkarsh Animal Hospital, Mumbai, and was attended by BMC representatives and the Utkarsh team.
उत्कर्ष ग्लोबल फाउंडेशन, नेहमीच उत्कर्ष रेबीज मुक्ती मिशन आणि प्राण्यांच्या जन्म नियंत्रण कार्यक्रमाद्वारे रेबीज प्रतिबंधाच्या अग्रस्थानी असते, त्यांनी बीएमसीच्या सहकार्याने रेबीज प्रतिबंध आणि जनजागृतीविषयक सेमिनार आयोजित करून अभिमान वाटला.
या सेमिनारमध्ये बीएमसीच्या वरिष्ठ पशुवैद्यकीय अधिकारी आणि रेबीज नोडल अधिकारी डॉ. स्नेहा टाटेलू यांनी माहितीपूर्ण आणि शैक्षणिक व्याख्यान दिले. त्यांनी रेबीज लसीकरण प्रक्रियेविषयी, संसर्गानंतरची काळजी (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis), प्राण्यांशी हाताळणी करताना घ्यावयाची खबरदारी आणि सुरक्षा उपाय, तसेच समुदाय पातळीवर जनजागृती व शिक्षण यावर सविस्तर माहिती दिली.
हा कार्यक्रम उत्कर्ष अ‍ॅनिमल हॉस्पिटल, मुंबई येथे आयोजित करण्यात आला होता आणि यामध्ये बीएमसीचे प्रतिनिधी तसेच उत्कर्ष टीमने सहभाग घेतला.

During an interactive session on April 13, 2025, Adv. D. R. Londhe, CEO and President of Utkarsh Global Foundation, emphasised the importance of compassion, early education, and structured community action to resolve human-animal conflicts within housing societies.

Utkarsh launched our annual Water Pot Campaign on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, on April 10, 2025, at Utkarsh Animal Hospital, Mumbai. More than 1,000 cement water pots were installed across various locations in Mulund on the same day.
These pots will serve as permanent fixtures on the streets, providing clean water to animals and birds throughout the year—not just during summer. We also distributed 250 clay water pots to local animal feeders to ensure drinking water access for the voiceless.
Our heartfelt gratitude to Nitin Khadge Ji, and Sameer Worlikar Ji, Police Inspectors from Mulund Police Station, for gracing the event as our chief guests and offering their inspiring support.

Over 30+ team members from Heady Technology Consultancy Private Ltd, joined Utkarsh in painting and preparing clay pots for the Utkarsh Water Pot Campaign on April 3, 2025, at Utkarsh Animal Hospital, Mumbai.
Utkarsh Water Pot Campaign is an annual event by Utkarsh to provide water for animals and birds during the summer months.
Every year, thousands of poor animals and birds die of dehydration in summers. As part of the campaign, Utkarsh will place water pots at various locations and ensure they are filled with clean, potable water so that animals and birds can quench their thirst and find some relief during the harsh summer.

Snow is currently recovering from a hernia at Utkarsh Animal Hospital, Mumbai. She underwent surgery and is doing well now. While canine hernias are common, they can often cause significant discomfort.

Utkarsh FIR Brings Justice for a Stray Accident Victim
Last month, Utkarsh team member Heena Solanki filed an FIR with the police after witnessing a tragic incident where a dog was fatally crushed under a cement mixer in Bhandup. Acting swiftly, the police tracked down and apprehended the driver, who had fled after the incident.
Cruelty to animals is a punishable offense, and we hope that such prompt action will serve as a deterrent against cruelty to animals.

Pintu, a 2-month-old kitten, was rescued from Ghatkopar West with a severe eye injury and admitted to Utkarsh Animal Hospital, Mumbai. We're thrilled to share that his wound is almost healed, and he is doing fine.
पिंटू नावाच्या गोंडस मांजरीला घाटकोपर पश्चिम या ठिकाणावरुन आमच्या उत्कर्ष प्राणी रुग्णालयात दाखल करण्यात आले. अवघ्या दोन महिन्याच्या पिंटूला झालेल्या डोळ्यावरील गंभीर दुखापतीवर येथे खात्रीशीर उपचार करुन तिला वाचवण्यात आले. पिंटूची जखम आता बरी झाली असून ती लवकरच स्वस्थ होत असल्याचे सांगतांना आम्हाला खूप आनंद वाटत आहे.

People for Better World
It wasn’t in one day that we set up the Foundation. We have always loved animals. We would help them as and whenever we could. In the course of our work, we realized that stray animals, especially stray dogs, were loathed by people. The main reason was that people were afraid of stray dogs. It was true that some dogs turned violent and attacked when provoked. We learned through our work that stray dogs turn violent only when they are hungry.
In a society which is unkind to human beings, one can only imagine how it treats poor wandering animals. Stray animals have to scavenge for food and if they fall sick or are victims of accidents, no one cares to help them.
This is when we decided to start a daily feeding drive for stray animals. A small initiative which started with feeding 10 or more dogs now has reached up to feeding 1500 stray animals daily. Sick animals and accident victims were another matter of concern. That is why, we set up an animal hospital in Mulund and Vasai. The hospitals treat stray animals for free.
The hospital also undertakes the ABC or Animal Birth Control Programme of the government, wherein we undertake neutering and vaccination of strays all around the year.
Today, the hospitals cater to thousands of stray animals and pets. Our hospital in Mulund is a full-fledged hospital with a diagnostic centre equipped with modern equipments. The hospital treats all kinds of animals from cats to snakes. Many diseases such as Maggot Wounds, Fracture, Jaundice, Paralysis, Skin Diseases, Tick Fever, Amputation, Malnutrition, Hematoma, Cancer, and more, are treated at the hospital. A team of expert veterinary doctors, assistants, pathology technicians, helpers and volunteers are ready to tackle any kind of emergencies 24x7. The hospital also has an ambulance services especially for stray animals.
We would like to take this further and in the near future, set up a highly advanced facility with more space so that we would be able to take care of every stray in the city.
