Update on the abandoned kittens!
With great team effort, the kittens are out of the woods 🎉

The most critical kitten recieved life-saving medical aid on time and today he even ate his own bowl + his brother's bowl. They've all gained some much needed weight and are well hydrated. Grooming, covering p**p, playing and meowing are all signs of good health in a cat - although they haven't started playing yet, we are sure their little bodies are storing up the energy to begin mischief! We're so estatic to see their progress, we hope adopters turn up soon so that we can really save them from a hard lfie!

This International Women's Day, let's get educated on this dangerous disease in female pets! Both cats and dogs are at risk of PYOMETRA when they stay intact and have regular heat cycles without getting pregnant!

Sterilizing your pet is highly recommended for their good health, the surgery can be life-saving medical aid to female pets!

Signs of Pyometra:
Excessive thirst and urination
Not eating well and stopped grooming themselves
Pale gums
Fever, vomiting, diarrhea
Distended abdomen
Bloody pus discharge from va**na

If you see the signs, seek immediate medical attention as Pyometra can be fatal! If your dog or cat is diagnosed with Pyometra during their very first heat - one of the reasons can be due to E.coli bacteria entering the cervix during heat. Always maintain the best hygiene and care during your pet's heat cycle.

Heatwave Alert in Thane ⚠️

Our furry ones are equally affected by the heat!!! Their coat's protect them from the heat however, the coat is not magic. They can still feel hot, here's how you can protect your furry at home and our friends on the the streets!

1. Cooling Spray
Our herbal Cooling Spray, CoolSim, is made of herbs that naturally help your dog or cat feel better in this heat.
2. Cooling Mat
The gel in a Cooling mat is made to offer a soothing respite to your furry one!
3. Wet Food
Hydrate with wet food, add bone broth or any gravies to your dog or cats food to ensure hydration in maintained. Additionally, offer wet food instead of dry food to stray animals who are enduring the heat on the streets.
4. Watermelon and Icecubes
Watermelon is safe for consumption of both dogs and cats, its a hydrating treat and helps cool the body. Additionally, licking ice cubes is a good way to pass time and keep cool.
5. Add Waterbowls for Strays
Ceramic or stainless steel water bowls are less likely to collect bacteria and can offer our furry friends some relief in this heat. Place the bowls in areas with shade, make sure they are big in size.
6. Add cardboard boxes
Cardboard boxes can offer shade as well as retain some cooling properties, they are best areas to sit and hide in for our furries on the street.
7. Keep your windows closed during peak heat.
Heat can enter your home during peak hours and this heat will be circulated by fans. Instead close the windows during peak heat and even allow your furry one to sit in a place with cool tiles if possible.

Follow these simple ways to make sure your furry friend is not overheating. The risk of a heatstroke increases every summer! Make sure your dogs daily walks are limited or if your cat goes outdoors, make them stay indoors only.

In a horrible turn of events, the kitten dumped outside of Dog's World by the two people in the image above has been diagnosed with PANLEUKOPENIA, or Feline Distemper.

From wherever they picked him up, they spoke to many of our employees and made no indication that they needed help. Only helping the kitten with food and asking if our stray cat needed food too. Once they saw that everyone left, they pushed the kitten under our ramp and ran away. Stray dogs passing by could have caught the kitten and our own stray cats were in the location, hostile to new cats in their territory. The tiny kitten was noticed by staff and since he is small we thought he would have a chance at adoption and decided to bring him in. This small act of kindness in harboring this kitten can result in fatal virus spread in all our other rescued cats and our strays who live outside, who were exposed to the infected kitten.

This is the very reason why only vaccinated cats are allowed in Meo Lounge. We are not a rescue, neither are we medically equipped to handle your rescues which you wish to get rid of. We meet and greet many animals in a day and we have our own furry ones at home.

There is only about 10% chance of recovery from Feline Panleukopenia Virus. Moley, the kitten has mentally given up this hard battle and only physically being kept alive on saline twice a day. The next 5 days are crucial on deciding his life and death. We thank everyone who donates towards the care of our cats at Dog's World India's Donation boxes. Please pray for Moley, we are trying our best.

My beloved dog Teja escaped from a rickshaw and got lost, I've been going pillar to post looking for her."

In the hustle and bustle of our festivities, someone decided that this is an opportune time to dump a helpless kitten in our backyard ⚠️

To repeat this ➡️ if you think you are doing a cat a favour by leaving them in our backyard (the place that's frequented by large breed dogs going in and out of the spa + adult stray cats who have lived here with us for years and won't be friendly to new cats + vehicles going in and out of the parking space) you are dead wrong! Your kitten might be lucky we saw them in the nick of time.

We have terms and conditions set in place to which cats we accept, if you have rescued a cat, you NEED to be able to take responsibility for the rescue. If we don't have space, we will add you to a waitlist and try to post photos and videos to help you, but we are not your convenient place to turn to, your own efforts matter, because rescue WAS YOUR decision and IS YOUR responsibility.

Meo Lounge, our cat cafe, is a passion project due to the good of our hearts at .thane When someone so cruelly decides to shirk their responsibility, it's very disheartening 💔

Our backyard cat population is controlled by spay and neuter, we implore you to do the same life-saving service to your local kitties.

The kitten is small, he doesn't event know what dry food is and is crying for his mother. Because we feel he has good chances of adoption, we will be taking him into quarantine and readying him for the cat cafe. When you adopt a cat from us, you make place for helpless kittens like this, who may have no where to return to. Our kittens are dewormed, vaccinated, littertrained and family friendly indoor pets.
