A little reintroduction for anyone new here.
My name is Julie. I'm an Equine & Canine Integrated Massage Therapist, which means I take a whole horse, whole dog approach to my work. We don't just look at one aspect. We look at absolutely everything! Every detail.
A little background on me.
I share my life with my horse Mia, who has been with me for ten years and is seventeen now, and my dog, Isla, who I adopted from a rescue in Northern China a year ago. I began my journey completing my BHS stage 1, 2 & 3 (that feels like a long time ago now 🙈) And went on to study human holistics, gaining qualifications in Reiki, Reflexology, Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition, and Indian head massage; all with the eventual aim of moving into animal holistic therapy. I took my time with my Reiki, delving deep into Japanese origins and honouring my lineage; spending over five years completing my Reiki Masters. Throughout this completion, I qualified in APEIST with Equi-Ed, completing over sixty therapy sessions on various sport horses, hobby horses, ex racers, and therapy ponies. I fell deeply in love with the art of offering up my hands to the healing, and while I worked with dogs at the time, I continued this love by qualifying as a Canine Physical Therapist also. I have a huge interest in the nervous system, regulation, conditions, and somatics, which I hope to delve into further along in my career. I'm always learning, ostrich neck deep in CPD and any webinars that may satiate the fire in my core; including an extensive nine month long Kinesiology qualification, advanced biomechanics, advanced myosfascial release and kinetic chains, lymphatic drainage massage, and advanced prescriptive rehabilitation programs. And here's to many more! 🙈🤓
I incorporate energetics into my sessions, believing that all bodies deserve to be held in a safe space - physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Everything starts as energy. We are all energy. We are all living, feeling beings susceptible to energetic blocks, which can manifest in the body as physical illness and dis-ease. Feel free to comment about your experience if you've worked with me, to share with others interested. 😊💜🙏
