The Blog on BoB is now up and running, its got to start somewhere, so here is the first post......I feel a little strange writing the first post on our blog, but I guess as the owner of the Irish Dog Directory its only right or write to lead from the front. I don't want to make the first post boring, so I'll give a a quick overview as to how www.bestofbreed.ie came to be.There are lots of fantastic dog websites in Ireland, both informative and breed specific. Then of course there is Facebook, which is brilliant. So, the last thing I wanted to create was another dog website. Some time ago I was looking for a specific breed of dog - it doesn't matter which. I found the search process through Google VERY frustrating, Some breeder's sites had litters advertised that were born last year and sold long ago, others were simply hard to find, even using the leviathan Google. Then a couple of years later it was time to find our second dog, this time we decided to find a rescue dog, as dog charities are very important to both myself and my wife. It was even harder to find accurate, updated information for dog charity sites. Before you have a go at me for saying this, I DO understand the pressures dog charities are under, just surviving.... Both myself and Mrs G work full time, so visiting various dog charities were time consuming and it was frustrating to find dogs online had long gone. Consequently BoB was conceived, at least in my head. Having spent the last 20 years in the corporate environment, I developed BoB part time, originally going live last year in Beta mode (test). Glitches were ironed out, and now we are open for business, and going great!!!
OK, so that's who, what why...............
