Save the Staffies Ireland This page is both for proud staffie owners and those eager to help rescue those in need of a loving home. Mum, too, became unwanted, as the last puppy goes.

Please browse through our post down to see all staffies waiting for a new loving family. Many hundreds of dogs are euthanised every year in Ireland after their 5 days in the pound is completed. Sadly, they are discarded like a waste product of our society. It has become obvious to many people involved in dog rescue
that a large proportion of these 'death row dogs' are Staffies and similar type dog

s. Staffordshire Bull Terriers and SBT crosses are being over-bred meaning that every year thousands of them are left without homes, ending up in Council Pounds or Rescue centres and some suffering an even worse fate - being 'put to sleep' simply because they have nowhere to go. The difficulty is compounded by the fact that some councils and private landlords will not accept bull breeds and other dogs whose breed type is on the Restricted Breed list. We find this appalling as these dogs are truly fantastic pets and devoted companions. Their reputation as vicious killers is a myth, blown by media out of proportion. The love for humans in this breed is overwhelming, they give all of their little hearts to this love.

Just a Staffy Cross.
*****************
Today is just another day - to me they're all the same
I have the worst of genes you see, I bear the "Staffy" shame. The shame is in our numbers, there's thousands with no home
Thousands just like me you'll find, in kennels all alone. My mum was "just a Staffy", my father - well who knows? And then begins the process, of money-making deals
A life of "moving on" unfolds, who cares how the Staffy feels? If you have the cash to hand, the Staffy pup is yours

But that pup is getting bigger now, just look at those big paws. You brought me for your image, thought I'd make you look more tough
But you'll find my boisterous nature has already got too much. If you had thought to train me, with kindness and with praise
You would have had a faithful friend to share your darkest days. I would lay down my life for you, but you simply cannot see
You make sure you get your money back on what you paid for me. And on it goes, until one day, I'm no longer worth a dime
The retail on an adult staff - not worth the waste of time. So what happens to a Staffy now? Do you really want to know? Do you care what will become of us, when we leave our final home? Have you ever thought to wonder, "Where is that Staffy now?"
The "Staffy" has another name; he's become a "stray" somehow. Me, I was put into a car and driven far away

The door held open, I jumped out, I thought to run and play. It was with joy and happy heart I turned to look for you
You drove away with all my trust and a piece of my heart too. I wondered round for many days before I was brought here. Now I wait with heavy heart, trepidation and with fear. Seven days is all I have you see, seven days for you to claim
The little dog that you threw out, for which you have no shame. This is my last goodbye now my seven days are up
If only more thought had gone into the future of that pup
As the needle empties to my veins I lay down with one last sigh
I'm sorry I was born a Staffy, because it means that I must die.

🚨 FOUND – Foster Home Needed Urgently 🚨

This gorgeous young Staffy was found abandoned on a driveway just outside Enniscorthy at 5am. 💔 It's clear she was deliberately dumped.

Despite everything, she is an absolute sweetheart – gentle, affectionate, and fully housetrained. She’s not microchipped, but she’ll be getting a full health check and chip this afternoon at our vet.

We’re hoping someone recognises her or knows where she came from. In the meantime, we urgently need a foster home to give her safety and comfort while we figure out her next steps.

📩 If you can help, please email [email protected] with your contact number.

Please share to help us find her family (if she has one) or a loving foster. Let’s show her the kindness she deserves. 🐾💕

Sally, new to Northern Ireland Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue

Little 'we don't know her name yet' arrived into our care earlier today from Belfast City dog pound after we learned of her plight over the weekend. This beautiful, fit, young, healthy and most loving Stafford was due to be put to sleep today 🥹 I can't explain what it feels like to take a dog from a pound and give them another chance at life. It is without doubt the most rewarding feeling any dog lover and rescuer can have...putting their harness on, reassuring them and leading them away from the utmost trauma they have been through. This little Stafford should never have been there in the first place and it absolutely shattered my emotions that this most precious dog was minutes, and we mean minutes, away from losing her life. She is ours now and her future is secure thanks to everyone who supports what we do. Julie

How has beautiful Dora had no enquiries 😢😢

She is such a sweet girl who just craves attention and affectionate. She loves cuddles and walks and loves playing. She is a 9 mth old pug cross staffie.

Shes an all round great wee soul..we would prefer she is rehomed as an only dog as she likes her owners all to herself. 😊

She can't be rehomed with cats as she likes to try and chase our ferals 🙀 like most of our dogs to be fair.

She will make a great family pet 🐾 as she just loves human interaction.

If you can offer this beautiful girl her furever home please message 🐾
