Please give a big welcome to Claire , the most recent equine veterinary surgeon to join our team.

Claire is a 2019 UCD graduate. She spent some time in mixed practice in Ireland before moving to the UK to focus solely on equine practice. Here her interests developed in the area of stud medicine, both in sports horses and thoroughbreds.

Given the opportunity she then undertook a medicine fellowship in Fethard Equine Hospital. She was part of the medicine team responsible for an extensive caseload which, in particular, allowed her to refine her skills in the area of neonatal and foal medicine.

Claire then moved to New Zealand where she worked in Cambridge Equine Hospital, another world renowned centre of referral equine veterinary care.

Alongside her responsibilities in the referral medicine department, Claire also gained exceptional experience in equine reproduction while working with both thoroughbred and non-thoroughbred clients and refining her skills in reproductive techniques such as artificial breeding to include embryo transfer.

She moved back to Ireland in 2024 and completed another busy breeding season. With an exceptional work ethic she is currently undertaking a certificate through the University of Liverpool in Advanced Veterinary Practice.

In her free time she enjoys hiking, running, Crossfit and tries to spend as much time as possible with her dog Toby.

She is looking forward to the busy caseload at SES Equine Veterinary Services this season.

Thanks very much to John & Siobhan they do a brilliant job and just thrilled that all of us at Springfield Stables won the prize for the 3rd time 🏆 well done team 👏
