Clifden show 2026 ,

The annual trek to clifden , started with a puncture tyre on my car , so we arrived in the rain and dark on Tuesday night.

Thankfully it stayed dry on Wednesday for our class , where Arabella was in the 6-9 yr mare with out foal at foot , she was pulled 7th in first lineup , in a class of such high standard mares , was happy to be there , she went lovely for me , but sadly no placing .

Always great to meet friends and talk Connemara ponies non stop for the few days 😊😅🦄 ,

All going well we will be back next year with a foal at foot , as Arabella is infoal 🥰🐴.

⛪Little stop off in a church we pass every year near Kyle more abbey , but never gone in before .

A Mayo show on all Ireland final Sunday , at Erris show . Great atmosphere with the big screen.

never seen the roads so quite driving home 😅 after 3:30 .

Arabella second in her Connemara class 🙂, and then some lead training for our little helper, but Arabella turned it into a hand grazing lesson 🤔 .

Last minute decision to bring Savannah to her first show and I think her third time away from home , on Saturday .

A reminder of how great a show atmosphere is to a young pony .

She loaded and travelled perfectly, when we open the jockey door she was amazed to see ridden ponies go by 😅, she had a quick walk around the show area before the classes , when I started to think it might be too much for her , but within minutes she relaxed and acted like she done it all .

When it came time to enter the ring , she walked around taking it all in , but sadly when it came time to trot she got stage fright and just wanted to walk ( I blame myself for not doing as much with her ) but she had trotted around pre class time 🫣 and at home. She stood perfectly in the line and was maybe to chilled out 😅 , not a bad thing in my opinion for a baby pony .

So on paper not the best result, but actually a really good day for her , she had children on ponies running past her , horses in the ring beside her and a bouncy castle and amusement right beside the horse boxes . And not bothered one bit by it all , for a pony who's spent all her life in a field 😄.

Last Saturday was a solo day for myself and Arabella to one of the few shows within half a hour drive for us , Sligo County Agricultural Show (Riverstown) .

Very thankful for such a easy going pony that I can do this with 🦄🥰 .
