With the storm on the way, I would like to share some tips to help keep your pets safe & happy.⛈️
-Ensure they have an ID tag with up to date contact details (ideally they are also microchipped). If they are microchipped, check and make sure your details are correct so you can be contacted and reunited if something happens.
-Ensure all gates are securely closed.
-Bring them outside for toilet breaks on a lead in case they get a fright and try run away.
-Keep all pets inside, even if they are usually let out for periods of time.
-Ensure they have a quiet, safe place to go in the house if they are stressed by loud wind and banging noises: a crate with a big blanket over it is ideal, or you can put your table in a corner and hang blankets on the chairs to mimic the same thing. Playing calming music can also help.
-Have some puzzle feeders or stuffed Kongs ready to keep your pups occupied!
-Please note that your usual vet may not be open. Ensure you have the emergency contact details in case your pet is unwell over the next day or so.
