IntFTCH Iroquois Prince of Cuileann – Season Report
The 2025–26 season has been nothing short of remarkable for IntFTCH Iroquois Prince of Cuileann. Prince opened the year in outstanding form, securing a 1st and 2nd place at the Rann, hosted by The Labrador Retriever Club of Ireland. True to his consistent style, he followed this with another 1st place at the Drumbanagher Estate, again under the Labrador Retriever Club of Northern Ireland. Combined with his points from 2024, these results earned Prince the title of Field Trial Champion under Irish Kennel Club rules.
Prince continued to demonstrate the reliability and drive we’ve come to expect from him. He narrowly missed early qualification for the IGL with a 2nd place under UK Kennel Club rules—an exciting moment, especially as he already held a ‘B’ qualification from early 2025. Any suspense was short lived, however. Within a week, Prince claimed yet another 1st place at the Rann, this time with the Mid Ulster Gundog Association. This win not only secured his place at the IGL but also elevated him to UK Kennel Club FTCH status.
The IGL began promisingly, though Prince didn’t quite find the bit of luck needed to push through to the top. He rounded out the season with a Certificate of Merit at the Irish Championship, a fitting finish to an exceptional year.
Now, with a well earned rest ahead, we look forward with excitement to the 2026–27 season and all that Prince may yet achieve.
Sincere thanks to the clubs, societies, estates, and shoots whose dedication makes this sport possible. And a special word of appreciation to Thomas Hughes, who has trained and handled Prince with true partnership and skill.
